Big question:
What happens if I never edit my g1 or whatever it is and I DL a park that has these rides? I guess I'll get some kinda error?
Topic pinned btw -

Not at all. Their parks will just appear a little weird... For example they might have used checker everywhere, when in fact it would be black tile if you had it edited. Also rides might look weird, for example if they've done something like i've done here, in this screen.
What you would see would be the brown base, so it wouldn't look quite right. I don't think that this will give any kind of error, just make people's parks look weird to those who don't have it and vice versa, look weird to those who do. Cos old parks of course have all the bases and everything so viewing them with this might look a little strange, as you wouldn't see bases of rides and you might see something under them xD. -

Wow, I just dl'ed this and it's great. No more ugly brown bases!
Can't wait to see all the creative things that everyone will do with it. The only down side is that if you were working on a park already, you have to go back and put new platforms for the rides, but it's well worth it.

Great stuff and one I will use in my Marriott Project.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but you could have to g1 files (this one and the original) and just swap them out depending on the park you are viewing. This way you can view the given park based on how it was designed.
I can't wait to try this out!
Many thanks

Yes you can do that ^_^
That's why you don't want people creating a 1000 different g1.dat's cos then it'll get a bit too complicated -

you can ideed, but you have to quit rct2 first before you swap the g1.dat
@ Kumba -> the g1.dat just contains the hard coded images which rct2 uses so if you watch a park where the g1 is edited it can be it looks else but the game will still run ...
btw did you know there are snow images in the g1.dat ? and that there is still a turbo in the g1 and that there are images of track that doesn't even exists in the game ... these things where made but not used in the game ... I'm trying and hoping to find a way to use them . -
