Just got home from seeing an advance screening of the movie in IMAX

if you go see this movie pay the extra money and watch it in IMAX, its worth the extra price.

Im not gonna spoil the movie for anybody.

Just picture Harry Potter in 3d

Advance screenings? Damn, I don't think anything around here is IMAX or doing anything in advance...

That's what i thought. Advanced screenings? Lucky bastard.

I have my ticket for the opening night though, can't wait. Although i'm more hyped about the release of the final book, i'm going at midnight to pick it up, then i'll read it that night. Just to make sure no stupid arse ruins it for me.

I probably won't be getting the book till a couple of weeks after it is out. Depends if my brother gets two copies though. He did last time :)

At the midnight thing for the first book, some of the people in front of us were getting their books and reading the last two or three pages aloud. It pissed me off so much.

Yeah i remember seeing a video floating around on the net. It was someone going around at the release of the last book (HBP) shouting "[Insert persons name here] Dies!" Which i thought was pretty shitty of them.

    Hello.

It's gonna be worse with Deathly Hallows, since the ending was leaked already.
Plus people must always find ways to be assholes and ruin things for others for no good reason.

Kumba, Corky, can it be set that if anyone discusses the ending of the books in any way, they get suspended or something?

Yes, everyone ought to be restricted from discussing the book with peers until Ling says it's okay to do so.
  • Ling%s's Photo
    No.
I don't want someone to come on the forums and post the last page, sentence, summary, whatever and potentially ruin the story for everyone who reads it.
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
    Waaaaah.
How about if they post a spoiler alert, then? Will that be acceptable to you people?

Just ignore all Harry Potter topics on the internet might solve your problems.

Though, I could sent the last sentence via aim to him ... :P

    Hahaha.

Honestly, you Harry Potter fanboys really set yourselves up for this one. That "reading the last pages to people standing in line at midnight" thing is almost too easy. You'd probably much more easily avoid such potential disasters if you just slept at normal hours and picked up your copy of the book at 2 PM the next day. Healthier, too.

But if it's so important to you that you're the first person in your local Borders market to buy the book, then don't let me stop you.

I think it's just the fact that (with this being the last book) i'm pretty eager to find out what happens. I haven't been to pick up my copy at midnight before. I just want to get it at 12, and read it that night.

at over just 1000 pages i dont think your gonna read the whole thing that night

hi i'm an insulated modern teenager in a suburban society where near-universal cell phone coverage quashes almost any opportunity for people to truly be adventurous and risk-taking and me and my friends talk about going on some big adventurous road trip when we graduate but we probably won't go far off major interstates and when i'm seventy i will look back and try to find some sort of adventure/excitement quota in my life and will have to be content with "well that week of boating in france was pretty cool" and so now i have to turn with ridiculous obsessiveness to a completely fictional storyline and occupy the life of a boy wizard in a fantasy world in order to bring any sort of excitement to my daily life because the rest is just trying to stay afloat day to day in humdrum high school

Harry Potter is poorly written, plagiaristic drivel.
