er? not very funny to me.. couldn't understand any of the vocals, never heard of the band who was apparently pretending to be more famous than they were/are, didn't really like the song. the 'funny' parts were maybe when they were doing the talk show thing and they were just in their living room. 2/10
now then- because no one knows who Squad Five-O is, apparently.. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Q-na61g3VgI -

sounds like happy punk; i don't like punk much, and i certainly don't want my punk to be happy. the guy's voice could work in a lot of bands, but it just seems out of place. reminds me of christian praise band music that's written by 40+ yr old people trying to be in with todays culture. 1/10
Which version of Heartbeats is better???

Holy shit, those are awesome. I like The Knifes version better, it remind me of Gary Numan. I've never heard of these bands, how do you find them. Must be a british thing.

I liked that song, but I think it'd be better if they toned down the synth. I like how he seemed nonchalant and full of himself during the whole thing, it was kind of comical. He reminded me of Tom Cruise for some reason. 7/10
Where do I find them? um.. I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but pitchforkmedia.com. The site's pretty full of itself, keep that in mind, and how all the mindless hipsters take everything to heart they ever put out is almost sickening. metacritic.com is a bit less biased, use that.

It was made in 1979, he was a big influence to the major synth/electronic music. He's a pretty strange duck though. -

8/10 - The lyrics didn't do too much for me, but the subdued auditory quality is nice. The violin is a nice touch too.

7/10 Not really my kind of music but still it was an interesting song.
Been really into this song lately.

^If 5/10 is average that's about 6.5/10 in my book.
The lyrics are quite good in spots, but the arrangement would work better with a full band I think...
Oh and don't click off of this just because of who it is... If only they did more stuff like this...

I rather enjoyed that Coldplay video, minus the lyrics about bullet proof vests and what not.
Sorry trancidEdge, I'm going to have to give that one a 0/10. I have no appreciation for that type of music. Someone once tried to explain to me the complexities and talent required for that sort of yelling, but in the end it is essentially noise. Music like that makes me curious as to what happened between that and the classical music of old.

^ The bulletproof vest & with the windows rolled up makes me think of the soldiers in Iraq driving along in their Hummers getting blown to pieces by road side bombs as the clusterfuck America's gotten itself into gets ever-worse and our so-called leaders still refuse to make withdraws or apologies; thus holding those same soldiers faces to the fire even longer. I can see where saying things like you'd be doing your best and wanting friends in that situation. I'm not sure why I connected to that lyric that way, but that's what I get out of it.
That introduction gets a 4/10. It takes some degree of skill, and some practice. It flowed and rhymed well and all that... But it just doesn't sound... well... Like music? As poetry it's a 9.9/10 though, so I suppose lets look at it that way.

oh man, nate. that's the beauty of it, though. it's not just the yelling or the noise or any one thing that makes it so amazing, but the entire atmosphere of the band and what they do makes it one of the best listening experiences ever.
it's so glorious. -

oops.
Missed it when he posted it.
And exactly what does that say? We both like MMJ!? That I'm going to have the opportunity to see MMJ at Lollapalooza, but since they conflict with Modest Mouse thanks to the stupidity of Perry Farrel and his scheduling team I'm going to have to consider my options carefully and am thus searching down live clips of both bands on YouTube? Did I mention that live MMJ wins hands down? Even though some others in my party will probably beg to differ.
Anyway I don't get a fuck about your thoughts on this matter.

0/10, again. Too much anger, not enough love. The talent is too far concealed for me to notice it. Coincidentally, the guy in the the video posted below, Dallas Green, is a singer for Alexisonfire. They're well known in Canada, but I think trancidEdge and Catchresistant may enjoy them if you haven't heard of them. Alexisonfire's music is the complete opposite of Green's, but he plays both styles. Go figure that one.

Godflesh is all about love. That's the entire band concept!
You know I think Islam means, "SUBMISSION".
PONDER THAT.
I'll let tracidEdge do the honours of responding to the Alexisonfire comment.
Video gets 6/10
