Love it. Brilliant structure, your quality when building on a large scale is immense. Love the interior, adds alot to it. Very realistic in the layout and the larger holding bays before the entrace doors.

The only negative thing i could say is that it's a shame you couldn't do more with the screen, but really, i'm not sure what else you could have done.

    Thanks everyone

OLE and Lloyd - Thanks and I understand your comment regarding the detail. It's a fine balancing act for this phase in that I could take the easy way out on this one and just do the shells for the major attractions however I want the inside to have some detail. The priority will be
Outside detail - no limits imposed. I will do what ever I can
Inside detail (major attractions) - Basic form and function with minor detail added
Shops and non-key structures - no inside detail

The key is that I don't want to go up against sprite limits as the park expands. Also, all the roofs will be closed so there is no need to go to ubber detail. Backdraft will have some kick ass stuff in side though ;)

Again, thanks and glad you liked it

:OMG: For something hardly anyone will ever see, that's pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to Backdraft.

    Update: Backdraft is complete!

After finishing up Backdraft, I'm thinking I will have now have two versions of the park, one with and one without roof. Depends on how the other attractions go.

Anyhow, Backdraft is complete and the crews are heading off to another part of the park. Below is the ending where the whole place erupts into flames.

The hardest part of this attraction though is how to make a sound stage look interesting from the outside. Talk about a pain in the ass! :woot:

    Thanks

    Wow. That's incredible

With all of the fire and such. I would suggest leaving the roof off. Dont look too bad other wise.

    Update: Backdraft complete!

Bellow is the complete attraction for Backdraft. For those that don't know what Backdraft is, you can click this Link to find out more info. In short, Backdraft sits inside one of the many sound stages that shows you how the varios special effects were created for the movie. The ending to the attraction was a demonstration of a wherehouse that errupts into flames and how they can control the fire to make it completely safe.

Very awesome. I hope you're going to do a backlot tour kind of tram ride. I think you could do an amazing job.

My favourite park in the chain, and i loved the others :)

The new screen looks great, well executed, it looks realistic and in no way overdone.

This is quite amazing. I know it sounds like I'm just echoing what everyone is saying, but I'll try to add a little more. I have been wanting to do a Universal Hollywood rec or something inspired by it for quite some time. I have to tell you that you have captured the Backdraft and Terminator feel incredibly well. I am so happy you are doing this because clearly you are capturing the dynamic well. I have always looked up to you RCTNW, and this project affirms my regards!

I think you're a planner so this may not hold any weight, but I always thought it would be fun to do the Shrek 4D ride and surrounding area. Also, if you can do the studio tour, that would be amazing.

Other potential attractions: some kind of Frankenstein thing; Universal seems to love their old horror movies. Of course, you always have King Kong, Dracula, Wolfman, etc.

I'm excited to see more, but then again, for all of our sake, don't show too much! :p Keep on trucking; looking forward to more.

Amazing. If you continue to do the insides of the other rides at this quality, you'll have Spotlight locked.

JDP – Thanks and yes they do. It’s pretty amazing to see in person

    Woofenskid & eman – Thanks

Comet – I’m trying to get some form of interaction with the tram to every major attraction in the park.

JiMeMo – Thanks and yes there will be a back lot studio tour. That will be on the second map of Phase III.

Genius638 – Thanks. I’m really happy with the look of the sound stage. You have no idea how many versions I went through. You don’t want to make them look plain (like in real life) however you can’t have it detailed with windows and fake facades either. The true test will be when I do the back lot studio tour and how they look.

Lloyd – This could be my favorite also although I still have some significant challenges ahead that I still need to work through as I may have boxed myself into a corner. Thanks

postit – Thanks! It’s funny how you mentioned the planning aspect of the project. Most of my projects are indeed planned out well in advance of getting in game and building. The problem is I don’t think I planed out the movie park map very well as I have hit a small block in the actual layout. The problem I have is most of the attractions are in large buildings and I need to place them in a way to allow for expansion to the park. I have this capability build into the MGA and MMW maps but I’m having an issue with it on this map. With that said, I think I will move on to the BLST next until I can work this problem out. One thing I have learned about this project is to not force the issue. If I hit a road block, I move on to another map until I can think it through. I think this has been the greatest aspect of this project. When you are working on a typical project, you are going to hit a road block.
    The problem is:
    1. You either start a new project (that has nothing to do with the current one) with hope that you come back to it, or
    2. You force your way through it resulting in an area that does not follow the natural flow of the park, or
    3. You spend so much time trying to get through it that you get frustrated and nothing gets done

Although this project has several different maps and concepts, it’s still one project and there is always progress being made somewhere. For instance, I have two mental blocks right now (MMW and MUS). Each night, I open the maps and spend 10-15 mins just looking around to see if I can find away around the block and I’ve been pretty successful in finding solutions. It just takes time MMW might be the biggest block I have had on this project though as I have three coasters that are around 80% complete. The problem is working the ques to make it interesting. I’ll get them resolved, it just takes time.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. I’m not sure about the Shrek 4D though as I’m not familiar with that attraction. I do have a few attractions already in the plans (Jurassic Park, Revenge of the Mummy, Water World Stunt Show just to name a few. Again, thanks for the suggestions!

Steve – Thanks although I don’t think this map will qualify for spotlight just like MGA didn’t when it was released.

    Again thanks for the feedback

    James - rctnw
