JDP, ignore my first post....re-read it again for the real update....ive considered the layout of the park and how peep-friendly it would be, and it would be appropriate for me to go ahead and build from the right side of the Mexico area so peeps dont get lost.

First and foremost....teaser of the medieval area.

Now, the major update, and its a surprise:

    Roarin' 20s Boardwalk

We all know that the Crystal Beach Cyclone has already been announced, and its undergoing constant and extensive modifcations in the coaster editor to best represent its ferocity in real life. The recreation is going to be as accurate as possible, although due to RCT's limitations, som areas might not be as accurate. However, the final product will be as authentic as possible, and when you look at it in the park, you will automatically thing "Ahh, thats the CBC."

Now, for the curveball that I'll throw, im going to go ahead and announce the four (yes, four) other headlining coasters in the area. All will be hard to fit in, and one will probably have to extent FAR beyond the area's limits. Lets get started, shall we?

    Virginia Reel
    PROPOSED STATS
    - Height: 40-50 ft
    - Speed: 20-30 mph
    - Length: Shorther than 1000 feet, or close to it.
This is going to be the first "nostalgic" coaster built in this area. Gonna be real simple, not a lot of theming, just a real classic ride that is not represent much at all in RCT.

    Leap the Dips
    PROPOSED STATS
    - Height: 40-50 feet
    - Speed: 15-25 mph
    - Length: Between 1400-1600 feet
Gonna be very similar to the real Leap the Dips with some slight variations, possibly more dips and what not. Gonna be another small and simple one much like the Virginia Reel.

    Airplane Coaster
    PROPOSED STATS
    - Height: 90-100 ft
    - Speed: 40-50 mph
    - Length: 3500-3700 feet.
Next big recreation of a classic coaster...google it if you do not know much about it. First and foremost, the first thing youll notice is the complete symmetry of its layout, and next youll notice its many, many banked spiral drops. Those are the trademark of this ride, and that is what I will focus on when Im recreating this. Layout is gonna be close to the original design with maybe a few differences here and there, but much like the CBC I want this to be as close to the original as possible. And in addition, its a damn fun coaster, so it should fit in perfect.

    Thunderbolt (working name)
    PROPOSED STATS
    - Height: 80-90 ft
    - Speed: 50-60 mph
    - Length: 3500-3700 ft
    - Type: Ravine woodie
Third and final coaster in the Roarin' 20s section, and its inspired by ravine woodies such as Thunderbolt (Kennywood), Puritas Springs Cyclone (Miller coaster), and so on. Ultimate type of terrain coaster, where the lowest point of the track is far below that of the station (good 60 feet at least), so look for some dramatic terrain interaction. Since this is essentially and out-n-back coaster, its gonna take up a lengthy stretch of land.

With that, the coaster lineup is as follows:

    Ryu: B&M invert
    Raiden: B&M Hyper
    Pale Rider: CCI-ish woodie.
    Paco's Mouse: Wild Mouse
    !Salsa!: Boomerang
Crystal Beach Cyclone: Harry Traver Twister
    Aeroplane Coaster: Fred Church Twister
    Thunderbolt: John Miller-esque Ravine Woodie
    Virginia Reel: Virginia Reel
    Leap-the-Dips: Side-Friction Coaster

Thats 5 woodies, 5 steels so far.

Park prolly has room for two-three more coasters.

You are going to work in big terrain changes for a ravine woodie along a 'boardwalk' themed area (presumably a flat area of the park along the water?) That, I am looking forward to seeing, and if anyone can pull it off, its you.

One of the best castle walls I’ve seen in RCT2! Exceptional detail without overdoing it. Would have been real cool of there was a drawbridge to go with this!

Man that's one hell of a lineup of coasters for a single area. Jesus a CBC clone, Aeroplane Coaster clone, AND a Miller ravine coaster? Why don't you throw in a Herbert Schmeck Wildcat while you're at it? :p

Haha... when I see this thing in game I'm going to die of happiness.

It's funny though because when I first saw the name Thunderbolt, I figured you were doing some sort of recreation of the Coney Island Thunderbolt or maybe even the Tornado. Something squeezed into a skinny plot of land on the waterfront. Still, a Miller ravine is nothing to complain about.
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
^I thought about doing a coney island cyclone type, but it really wouldn't be that original because Pale Rider uses some of those ideas in the Coney Island Cyclone.

Just to update you on my progress, its been really slow because the CBC is a real real pain in the ass, and trying to capture it in RCT is terribly hard. I think ive got a final design for it, and the stats are as follows:

    Height: 100 feet
    Speed: 51 mph
    Length: 4500 feet

    Int: 9:21
    EXC: 7.42
    NAU: 5.10

I made it a bit larger for RCT, but not much, and the length is prolly way off because of RCT's limitations when it comes to creating coasters in tight footprints. I tried my hardest though, and im pleased with what I got. I think it comes *close* to capturing the CBC, but perhaps their is more tweaking I can do.

Whats next? Well, im running out of money to construct and toy around, so im going to need to open the park back up for business first. Before doing that, im going to totally finish off theming and shit in the Japanese area, and then open the park. Once open, construction will start from the edge of Old Mexico towards the new area, Roarin 20's Boardwalk (and subsequently laying down the CBC).

Im really excited to see the CBC rec, I have tried MANY different recreations of it and have never really come up with anything I liked enough to complete, so Im curious how you went about it. :)

Another idea i was contemplating was using the first looping roller coaster "Loop the Loop" as an attraction, but dont know how that would fit in yet.

    Kijoki River

Just a little screenie of the Kijoki River...really is the only other part of the ride I could show you because the entire ride runs straight through the heart of the Japanese Gardens area, and revealing more of that would show you guys too much before release. First attempt at playing around with Japanese characters...they arent accurate and are just made up by me. I like how they turned out, and ive played with the idea of having much smaller versions of these posted on shops and such as entry names and whatnot...Also might toy around with the SA idea of using the RCT banners to show Japanese characters. This is the highest point of the Japanese Gardens, and one of the highest points of the park.

Basically its not much haha, just landscaping and such. One thing to note are the marshes, which is prolly something new u guys havnt seen before. These marshes are frequent throughout the Kijoki River, which runs through the heart of Japanese Gardens. These areas are also very frequent in Ryu's garden.

The park is now opening for business again, so ill have to deal with these little fuckers (i actually enjoyed the leisure time without hearing the peeps complains and want shit)...gotta make money. Japanese area is basically done, and im somewhat satisified with it. I totally nailed the atmosphere I was going for, but I might need to go through and revise little things throughout the area in regards to First person experiences and architecture in general.
This is the last youll see of Japanese Gardens, next series of updates (starting with the next screen) will introduce you guys to the Roarin' 20s Boardwalk, and more importantly, the Crystal Beach Cyclone OR the Airplane Coaster (don't know which one I will place first in the park).

    Enjoy.

The characters and marsh foliage look great, and the purple trees actually fit well too. This is one of the best asian areas ive seen. But the concrete transfer track looks kind of out of place so maybe a cover would be good on that. Also you might want to zero clearence the rapids so there isn't the wierd gap unless your not doing hacks on this park.
  • penguinBOB%s's Photo
I think it would look better without the fog and the red tree is just a bit much. The rest looks great, and this is just being nitpicky, but I would have matched the coaster support colors with the support colors of the supports that hold up the cement transfer track.

Got a screen of what you recreated?
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
Camcorder: I will zero clearance the rapids, ive done it in most parts of the other rides....when i mean no hacks in this park im kind of talking about merging rides and whatnot. The concrete transfer track doesn't really concern me that much...dont want to spend too much time theming a transfer track.

PenguinBOB: You think Raiden should have gray supports? Ewwwwwwwwww.
  • Fr3ak%s's Photo
    Everything is nice.
Accept of the fence from the transfer track. In my eyes, this don't fits to the japanese atmosphere.
  • penguinBOB%s's Photo
no, i think the supports that hold up the path by the transfer track would look better tan.

    ^Ahhhhh.
  • Silenced%s's Photo
that's a very creative way to cover up the ride exit.
  • Ling%s's Photo
It looks great theme-wise but you did clarify that water would be raised through the rapids? Right now it looks kind of "bleh" with vertical land faces there next to the turn... And fantastic job on the marshes, the thick green foliage does wonders for the atmosphere.
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
^ Yes I will raise the water.

Im having a huge problem right now. The fucking peeps are so ridiculously stupid...let me explain to u what they do when they get lost and want to go home.

They pace BACK AND FORTH for about 7-8 tiles worth of path. They are so fucking retarded. The park is half done and already they all get lost (its wierd I didnt have this problem last time I opened the park).
  • Ling%s's Photo
That happened to me once in a scenario a long time ago... Anyone remember that "duo" I did with Mediumrareme back at RctCompetition? The same thing happened all over the park and the only way I could get them to shut the hell up was to pick them up one by one and get them out of the park.

Oh, this is also happening outside a park I'm currently doing just for practice... the guests can't leave the map, they just pool up right outside the entrance... maybe Levis has a trick for us both?
