(Archive) Advertising District / Fatha's super duper get you shit faced Scenario!

    Hola.
Same rules as the last park, only exception is I gave myself 50,000 dollars to start the park, and once I used all of it I opened the park. So the park opened when I had about 300 dollars left. Another difference is a pre-landscaped the bench...its very hilly and has some severe changes in elevations. Pretty much every coaster is going to have to deal with the terrain. Here are some new rules I updated for this scenario:

    1) Park Entry is free, rides cost money.
    2) Terrain cannot be changed much, but can be altered slightly (So for instance, I can just destroy a mountain and make flat land there).
    3) Only two clones allowed for coasters (Ive used one with a boomerang to get the park started).
    4) I must use every coaster in the bench (every type).

Here is a starter screen of wats done so far.

Since its a boomerang I tried to theme it well at least.
Coaster is called !La Salsa! Portions of screen are unfinished.

Its themed very well, great for that matter. These new parks of yours are really great simply because you are playing the game how it should be played; by using money and peeps together, and following rules such as minimal landscaping and using every ride.

The screen is great, i really like the queue over the bridge and the roofing choice for the building. The colours of the supports and coaster go really well too, and its not a colour scheme i'm used to seeing.
Oh yeh, just noticed the little logo-ish thing above the queue entrance too, very cool.

Can't wait for the next screen, your parks are probably among my (few) favourites in construction at the moment.

    Nice work again fatha'!
I also already am using the invisible queue line for creating nicer queues.. Your custom queue line works really well on the boomerang.. Also like the custom logo marshy pointed out above the entrance.. Furthermore I love the idea to play the game you do, I also tried to have a positive cashflow on Puysegur Point as I've raised the entrance fee and shop sales as high as I could, but as I had to hire a lot of staff as animatronic (and handymen) I couldn't manage to keep out of the red.. I still want to play the game as you do sometime in the future as it sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
Oh, and I'm releasing my path object group one of these days here on the forums, which contains some handy path objects, such as colourable bins, lamps and MT path blocks..

The colors on the coaster are absolutely magnificent! Great work and looking forward to see more.

For a standard Vekoma Boomerang, that looks great!

The brown doesn't mix well with the purple and orange. Other than that it's great!

Fantistic. La Salsa seems like it's bumpin'...

Quick question though. Are the peeps paying to get into the park or are they paying for the rides?

JDP: They pay to get into the rides, park entry is fee (I dont know if RCT2 lets you have it both ways? I think its just one way or the other). From a money-making perspective, making guests pay for the ride makes the scenario much much easier....Im already pully in 900 a month with 4 rides! Here is what im learning so far about this method in regards to what rides make what kind of money:

Gentle Flatrides (Like Merry-Go-Rounds): 100-200 per month
Thrill Rides (Like Gravitron): 200-400 per month
Second-tier coasters (Boomerangs, etc): 600 per month
Top-tier coasters (Custom layouts) 1000-2000+ per month

The drawback is that a spike in guest attendance means nothing, and guests run out of money very very fast and usually get pissed when they do so. Also for this bench, the guests seem to be really reaaaaaally irritable, as many of them get unhappy very quickly. And they all enter with the intention to ride attractions greated than nine intensity....which is absurd (so i just use the trainer everyonce in a while to make them ride anything under 15).

You could alter the SV6 file so that the peeps enter the park with alot more money, using the RCT2 Saved Game modifier. Or you could remove all peeps and bring in all new peeps periodically.

Did you mean to say "can't" there?

Looks great, and it sounds like you must be enjoying the game.
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
    ^Yes meant can't.
Ill show a screen of the overview that shows the maps terrain.

    very clever.
probably the best theming for a boomerang ever.
  • lucas92%s's Photo
Maybe the supports could touch even more the coaster...
But beside that, haven't seen a good Vekoma coaster since a long time... :)

It´s looking great, for a scenario!

The drawback is that a spike in guest attendance means nothing, and guests run out of money very very fast and usually get pissed when they do so. ^ looks like somewhere in the editor you have set that guests like higher intensity rides....
Like Ride_exchanger said you can change this permanently with the RCTs save Game Modifier.
And that goes for the initial money they bring in when they visit the park also.

Another annoyance that you might stumble upon soon, is that peeps
are not willing to pay the same price as now for the rides when those get older.
This does have the most effect on gentle and flat rides, but still also on coasters, though less.
If that happens it can pay to build the same pirate ship or chaotic again (then guests experience it as a brandnew ride), or to just rebuild a piece of coastertrack.
Using 8-cars "renew all rides" works simpler of course

    Have fun,

Yea I just fixed the peeps with the SV Modifier.

    Hey.
Here is a screenshot showing the terrain that the park will negotiate. Couple of things to point out:

    1) The area to the left of boomerang was relandscaped by me, and is not a rolling hill that slopes upward to the elevation of the top of the waterfall.
    2) Ignore the land ownership rights....I intended to make myself buy land when forced to, but my stupid ass forgot to make that land for sale back in the SE.

Some portions of the landscape might be subject to change, but remember my rule...I can't alter the landscape too much. The only changes you might see are extensions of the water features (lake and river). I might make the lake a big larger.

Love the colours, and the way that the buildings have just enough detail to look awesome, but not overdone.
  • egg_head%s's Photo
I really like the entrance and how you can see the queue inside the building. Bravo!
