It's likeable, i like details but i find it lack ambition , there are a lot of things which combine a learning without having someone impressive.

I love that first screen of the latest update.
This perfect harmony is something only very few players can achieve. If you add these small dutch bridges to it and some sidewalk cafes it would give me the perfect holidays feeling.

I also like how the cockroach turned out, although it is just a tiny addition that I needed for the song.

Liampie: I wouldn't use the concrete path that much.
Maybe some colors will look nice too.

The concrete path is in fact used sparsely in this area. (bijna alleen voor ``stoeptegels``).
But you are right, there still is too much of it in these screens. For though the screens don´t look really ``unfinished``, they are a bit older (sorry for that) and this area is still ``under construction/in development`` and in the meantime there is less concrete than on the screens.
I did not place the screens with the intention to sollicit comments on them in the first place, but more to illustrate the question about ``coffeeshop`` and ``la Cucaracha`` .
And of course it is logical, and very nice that everyone comments on the screens also.

On some colours: there are already many colours further along this little street, like a tourist shop full of yellow wooden shoes and Delft Blue rimram inside as well as out on the pavement, and bright advertising signs.....and a sidewalk cafe (terrasje aand e gracht met parasols)) so in the total look of the street I felt this particular corner could do with some more rest for the eye, but I´ll still have a look at it....

Somehow I do agree with you. At least on the backside part with the ride.
As I told above, this area is still in development, many small things are tweaked already in the meantime, and although the harmony will be better if you see it in it´s broader surroundings, I am not fully contented with it yet either.....

Good to hear you love that one, Magnus, and yep! this is just a very small Amsterdam-area, but (what is not shown on this screen) there is a small canal with two of those small Dutch bridges and there are some sidewalk cafes already (so have a beer on the sidewalk I would say and Happy Holiday-feeling! )

I am also looking forward to my next update, Lol!, with my pace nowadays, that might still take some time.......

I really liked to know if other people than just me would grasp the connection between a Dutch Coffee Shop and the song ``La Cucaracha`` (``The Cockroach``)

Seeing the answers I´ll have to do a lot of work for the Readme.... LoL!

I counted on it that most people all over the world would know that a Dutch ``Coffee Shop`` is not a shop where you go with your mother to have a coffee and a piece of apple pie.

Yes you can have a cup of coffee there, or tea, or a soft drink, but normally you do go there if you ``legally`` want to buy some Marijuana/Cannabis, Hasj, weed, pot, grass, stuff, kiff, shit or whatever you call this soft-drug and it´s variations.

Following BBC and CNN etc. now and then, and hearing their criticism on it, I thought it would be well-known.
So, that´s the front.

In the backyard there is the Cucaracha-ride.
The main text of that song is: `` La cucaracha ya no puede caminar....porque no tiene marihuana por fumar``.....
Translated from Spanish it says: `` The cockroach can no longer walk because he does not have any marijuana to smoke``. (RCFanB&M, where are you for the correct Spanish and translation?, LoL!)
So that´s why the back-yard ride is themed to this marijuana addicted cockroach, with a lot of his beloved ``Grass`` around him.....so he is close to what he wants and can get from the Dutch Coffee-shop, LoL!!!.

The original song came from Mexico, and was brought over to the US, where especially many jazz-performers incorporated it into their repertoire.
Not only because it was a fine melody/rythm to do improvisations on, but also because all those great ``fathers of Jazz`` were heavily under the influence of marijuana/pot/reefer etc. So the link to the text was a wink.......by Louis Armstrong, Dizzie Gillespie, Thelonius Monk, Count Basie, Jimmy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, Cab Calloway, and later Jimmy Hendrix, Dylan and Donovan etc, etc....(I love all of their music as well as what came from it in more modern settings)

How much associations can go into a tiny and unimportant small flat-ride..? :' />

Everything's great so far. Architecture is well done, but there is a need of more colors... It seems dead for a park. Maybe you could put more red and yellow? Anyway, it's just my opinion...

I really like all the little details and deco stuff you put on those buildings. I also like the traditional and realistic atmosphere, you've done a great job with it.

The Cucaracha (or whatever it is spelled) is pretty neat. Yet the screen wih the coffee shop is brilliant. I'm not that wowed by the coffee shop itself, but the building to the right of it. That's some might detailing. One suggestion on that building is to hack those double windows so that the're on the same line though. As far as the tulips song goes, I know it. Really don't worry about if people know the songs or not. It's your masterpiece.
I doubt that my music area in EGAS can match your music themes (hell I know for certain it won't), but atleast I'll try to release it before you do with your park (it's a lot different though)

Sorry, Fan, it really seems the other way around........the childrens´ version is the modified version.......for all those circumstances where the relation to dope is not suitable.

In my own (books)music encyclopedia it is suggested the song originally referred to Huerto, a dictator at the time of the Mexican revolution in the 19th century, as he was hated as well heavily on marijuana.

In links on the net I could not find that relation really soon, though they all seem to agree on the fact that the original text was about the marijuana, and the many other lyrics that exist are the modifications.

This park is looking really good especially considering your building it with one hand. I love the coffee shop and how detailed the building to the right of it is. That cockroach is really cool too.

Yep, Tyandor, I also like the building to the right.

On the double windows: I already hacked them a lot of times, in different sequences as well as all together, but I cannot get them lined up better, or getting the other neceassary lines hacked up neatly then.......can do it with another window-type, but I want these......will try again,( but let me know if I overlook something...)

No. the Marijuana version is the oldest version known of , and it was NOT meant for children. It was a political-satirical text in the Mexican Revolution. (19th century).
Later there were made many many text-variations on it, especially for children.

Long time ago....but I had to do a winning Road Rally in the meantime (is in the Release-section, but only 2 people wanted to comment on it.... :' /> )

"Armstrong Park" will be the main entrance to the jazz-part of Music Masters.
Will be themed to Jazz and to New Orleans, as I think that is the birth-place of jazz.

The entrance gate is awesome! What you did is very nice, but I just like those custom trees (palm trees??), they have a plastic look...
