Music Forum / Spoon Gimme Fiction

Now before you tell me how great Spoon is:
I've only heard Sister Jack and Merchants of Soul, through Pandora.

While I love these songs, I seem to remember not liking Spoon the first time I checked into them.
That said, my music tastes have drastically changed over the past couple years.
If you're curious, I like the Shins, hate the Lips, love Carbon Leaf (who I doubt anyone knows), hate hip-hop or screamo or metal or country, love indie or folk/acoustic or pop/rock.

So. Do you recommend this album?

Well Spoon is the very definition of indie pop/rock, so, yeah.

I like it. If you like The Shins, you will like this album, at least for the most part.

it's very rythmic and can get a bit boring at times. get destroyer's rubies or anything by the new pornographers or yankee hotel foxtrot by wilco or rehearsals for departure by damien jurado or that new album by menomena or loveless by my bloody valentine or stuff by stephen malkmus or pavement or dummy by portishead or you are free by cat power or future perfect by autolux... there's a lot of stuff i'd recomend over spoon.
