Why have I become so addicted to RCT, when I should be studying for AP tests? Lol. It's deja vu. -

i managed to manually copy all the object data i need so i can open the park. i used to be able to just place a park in my RCT2 folders and open it then my game would import all the object data for me but for some reason it wont anymore. ill have to see if i can find an easier way to get all the data!!!
But most importantly i got the bench installed so im ready to go for PT3!!!

Did you read the "read-me" file with the bench? -

So, how exactly do the prelims work? Are we competing for points, or is your entry compared with the others and the best one wins? And if I lose one prelim, can I submit for a later one? I want to be sure I know everything about this competition, so I can reach the top with little confusion.
By the way,The glory of the PT prelims in the past has been how diverse the entries have been within a certain catagory. There's no need for all these questions, build a ride how you interpret it, build it in your style. If you want a dark ride, build a dark ride, if you want it inside themed, then theme the inside, if not, don't. Just try and make the best entry possible, but do it how you want. There isn't a strict set of rules you have to abide by in this context.
Thanks Metropole. This really helps! -

the winner of each prelim round gets into Pro Tour 3. the prelims are contest to get into a contest -

So can you win a two prelims, or is it that once you win a prelim, you're in and don't have to do anything until the Finals? Also, will the winners be anounced publicly, or will we just get an e-mail? I know I'm asking a lot of questions, (and everyone is giving great answers that are a big help) but a chinese man once said, "He who does not ask questions is overconfident."Edited by Xin, 27 April 2007 - 06:07 PM.

the results of each prelim round is made public, the winner advances and does not need to do anymore prelims, they are just qualifiers for those already not eligible.
ie. you enter round 1 there are 5 others that also enter, you finish 2nd, the person that wins is in and doesnt have to do anything until the final round starts.
since you didnt win you have to try for another round, once you win you are in and dont have to do anything else til the Pro Tour starts, at that time an official bench will be posted and rules for it will go up. -

It's probably been asked before but for Best Bridge, is it just the bridge or do other buildings and rides need to be built?
Also for the Best rides etc. ie Best B&M, does it have to have anything else in it or is it a simple, layout, station, theme. -

It can be what you want, intepret it how you will, just ensure it has a bridge/b&m as the main focus of it. -

^No, you can only use one map per entry, and like people have said before, if you don't win with that entry, you try again. Each entry has to be on it's own map. -
Ge-Ride Offline
^Actually, zodiac, I disagree. If you put them all one map, the only entry judged will be the current one. However, the entries would have to be clearly separated in order to avoid disqualification for combining them. Another important thing to point out is to save your entries right after they're done and before you start building the next one, or you may be disqualified for having part of a future entry on the same map. -

IMO i would just put them on seperate maps because it makes it easier for the judge to determine what he is judging. i dont think i would want to have to look at all of them and decide which was which and what not. but those are just my thoughts.
started my bridge and i have to say im Loving this bench. Thanks alot GW!! you managed to make a bench with a ton of variety and alot of extra enhancers!!!

I agree with FK+Coastermind. GW made a really helpful bench. It's so helpful infact, I can almost guarantee myself a spot in the finals! I'm not trying to brag, but it's just that good! -

^ I second that.
What is it with the influx of 'omg im awesome' noobs?
Anyway, good luck to those who enter, it will be interesting to see what people come up with! -

I don't get this ....
how can a publicly released bench give you an advantage over others ?
I mean if you made your own bench and did't released it (like i did before GW made his bench ) than it can have an advantage, but now everyone can use it so everyone has the same advantage .
And than again there are still some flaws in GW's bench and even if it was perfect for your building style why should it gurantee you a place in the finals .... a bench is only 30% of the final product....
