As awesome as that is, robbie... please don't make it gray. White or pastel blue would be a better choice. (Both for aesthetics and physics -- it's a upward-facing mirror, you're looking at it from the sky, it will reflect sky.)

Actually, best option might be to use multiple colors, depending on the angle of the surface...

    Boy, intense "WTF" moment ...

well as impressive as that is from a technical viewpoint, I'm afraid I don't really think it looks that good. While I'm impressed that you decided to really try to recreate a thing like that in RCT, I think it lies just beyond what is possible to make look good in it. Still, I commend you for the attempt.

New Project I've been working on.

Actually supported this myself. I can support now. But it takes a long time.
This isn't hardcore realism. Just focusing on what looks good.

You know supporting's fun and all. But it's still hard for me.
  • Splitvision%s's Photo
I'm by no means an expert at supports but I do think the ordinary support footers would look alot better than the mixture and clumping together of building blocks you have there. The cappings seem a little random too. I prefer to either not have them at all or have them appear very consistently. But that's only my opinion. I do like what I see at the bottom of the screen alot though!

Dot, looks like a nice start, but I agree with Split about the footers.

Robbie, that's probably the most impressive theater I've ever seen(no offense, RCTNW). :mantis:

Take a spin on Goliath, offering the some of the most airtime of any coaster in the world, only at Six Flags Northwest.

Let's get a little Gehry in here...

    Based off of : http://chicagoartcol...ark-Theater.jpg

If it wasnt for the fact that you posted what it was meant to be, I would have had no clue what on earth that is.

Whilst I appreciate the skill gone into creating it, I just dont think it shows what it's meant to be, and if it doesnt do that easily in RCT, then it kind of defeats the point.

It also looks messy with all the different track types in there. It will be interesting to see what sort of location/setting this has been built in though.

Austin, nice take on the brakes on a slope. I like it reminds me of La Ronde's Goliath. But you have so much stuff going on right now it seems, please finish something! :mantis:

I don't like that Austin, looks like you're taking a step back skill-wise.
  • posix%s's Photo
Louis, actually I knew immediately what it was meant to be. I think it's just gorgeous.
  • Louis!%s's Photo
^Ok, so maybe some people will recognise what it's meant to be, but anyway, I still stand by my second point, that it looks messy.

I'm with Louis, I never would've guessed without reference either.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
I recognised it pretty fast though but I did architecture in my high school so I knew this.
Still I think recognising the isometric limitations its a gorgeous screen.
  • robbie92%s's Photo
I knew this would get a response like this. If architecture students, architects, or those just interested in architecture recognized it pretty quickly, than my goal was made. Just because one person can't discern the purpose quickly doesn't mean others can't as well, especially others with a much deeper involvement in the subject at hand. I assume Natelox had issues with this when he started doing Gehry-style work in LL, but I achieved my goal with this, so I'll just need to respectfully disagree with some people.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
Don't listen to any bad comments by people who aren't into this style of architecture, its awesome and simply keep at it...

Also I'd recommend trying callatrava aswell if you like gehry.
  • robbie92%s's Photo
I love Calatrava and was thinking of doing a Calatrava bridge in this same project.
