yeah, Mastodon have wonderful covers! The Meshugga-Cover I find rather disgusting though.
Another really wonderful cover:
also very good music. You have to hold it in your hand and see all pages etc to really see how great the artwork is. -

There are some really good covers in the metal genre but the ones you posted are not them. The first in standard flamey stuff, the second one is inferior to most others Iron Maiden album covers, and the last one is typical gothic stuff. -

I have too many favorites in the genre to pick definite favorites, so I just posted some of the ones I really like. I want to post some new ones though since I've discovered Epica. There are some really good covers in the metal genre but the ones you posted are not them. Are the Flying Lotus and the massive attack cover by the same artist?
Mezzanine has such a great cover, especially with the bright orange cd!
And that boards of canada cover is somewhat creepy. Is it good music? (stupid question) -

nope. Are the Flying Lotus and the massive attack cover by the same artist?
no, 'good' is not enough. excellently structural and creepily beautiful. when I first heard, I couldn't found the words to describe how moving it was. worth listening if you're lover at chill out or experimental music. And that boards of canada cover is somewhat creepy. I recommend 'An Eagle In Your Mind' and 'Telephasic Workshop'.
