RCT Discussion / NE Hall of Fame Disscusion

Just wanted to get your thoughts what you guys think of some of the people I added and FYI thats:

    Emergo
    Metropole
    Six Frags
    RCTNW

Also what do you think the parkmaker section should be and what makes someone worthy?
  • Gwazi%s's Photo
I think those Parkmakers definately deserved it. If we are having a Hall of Fame, though, I think the standard for Parkmaker should drop maybe just a little. Like a runner-up or two, or continuous Designs, or a really high place in a contest (Like 1st or 2nd). Then if they get a Spotlight or two, or something like that, they could be upgraded to the Hall of Fame or something.

    Just my $.02.

No way ^ You need to be the best of the best to be a parkmaker or build alot of decent sized parks. Like with the legends you need to of made an impact on the comunity and built several amazing parks. Ne has a quality we all must keep and your'll be truly rewarded when you meet that standard.
  • Lloyd%s's Photo
Yup, couldn't agree more with what JK said. NE has a reputation, let's uphold it.
  • Gwazi%s's Photo
I didn't say we wouldn't. I really want to uphold our status too. ATM, Parkmaker is the ultimate standing. You can't get any better than that. How are we gonna make a Hall of Fame rank then? We should lower the Parkmaker status just a little so that we can have a Hall of Fame rank. In that way, we would actually be raising our standards...

I would never want to lower our reputation.
  • Rohn Starr%s's Photo
I would think that the Hall of Fame would be the best of the ParkMakers. While being a ParkMaker is considered to be the highest status someone could become within the community, getting into the Hall of Fame would elevate those people even a little more since they would most likely be retired from park making. And these would have to be the best of the ParkMakers to be elevated to the Hall of Fame.
  • RCTNW%s's Photo
    ^ What he said!
  • Brent%s's Photo
A reputation to who? I doubt many outside of this site within the RCT Community care who's a parkmaker or not...
  • JJ%s's Photo
Yeah like me, I don't really care.
  • Kumba%s's Photo
I think im on the same page as J K and Rohn Starr.

Also the Hall of Fame will only be for the best of the best. Me and Cork were even debating letting SA in when it kicks off (He will get in sooner or later tho, I have no doubt about that).
  • Turtle%s's Photo
If you don't let SA in i'll kick off.
  • Blitz%s's Photo
if SA didn't get a stroll in the hall of fame, posix will go to your house and rape you so hard, you'd WISH it was just another hurricane...

And yes, parkmakers, by my count, are simply those who have proven themselves to be on par with the best of the best. Period. And that being said, stricter guidelines should be in place to ensure that there is a diversity of style among those chosen to be parkmakers, since in this day and age of rct, it's very very easy to be a copy cat or to hinge your style on someone elses innovations, and those guys need to stay off the list.

anyway, hall of fame list should only contain retirees, and only certain ones...

If SA doesn't belong in the hall of fame, who the hell does?

I think this parkmaker thing doesn't really matter. If a parkmaker makes a couple of nice parks, and you see that it will inspire the person in question to make more, possibly even nicer parks, why not? It never started out as quite the elite thing some of you have in mind for it, does anyone even remember?

It's for fun, people, and the more you stress the importance of 'becoming a parkmaker' the more people focus on it, the more some will achieve it and feel like they've achieved what they were going for and sit low. Let people strive making a good park, and inspire them to keep doing so by whatever means necessary.

I'm not saying you should make everyone parkmaker now, just don't make such a big deal out of it, do whatever you can to inspire people to make parks. View the parkmaker status as putting the parks of that person on your website, because you like their parks, don't look at it like they've made a huge step up in the world.

I still don't see anyone in the hall of fame so what are you talking about ?
  • Kumba%s's Photo
I'll put it out in the open then, I want to start with the 3 best NE Parkmakers ever and imo the likes of Mala, Fatha' and RRP were better, in that sense. Most of SA's greatness was from the Danimation days, I think.
  • Evil WME%s's Photo
SA is still an NE parkmaker right?

I'd say start with SA, Buster, LAA, Scheussler and Mala, if you gotta start somewhere. Is this some sort of slowly revealing the curtains or does it just mean you have no idea who you're going to put in the hall of fame yet?

AMEN!! It just seems like everyone is just shooting to become Parkmaker instead of creating parks for their own enjoyment nowdays.

And I guess you've done a good job choosing the recent Parkmakers although almost every one has been a part of the community for a long time now and it was more like them finally getting the credit they deserve rather than picking and choosing between any 'newer' talent.

And seriously... RoB alone wasn't a big step forward for the site?... wasn't (and still is) one of the best rct2 parks to date?... ummm yeah

How does that not get you on the Hall of Fame?
  • J K%s's Photo
Why dose'nt the community decide in a vote who goes into the first 3. Then thats final, its everyones say.
