I don't think you're going to get much closer to the color of the Hollywood Tower Hotel (DCA/WDS). You may also want to return to Disney's California Adventure and closely watch the preshow video. If you can, try to find video of the queue for the original version. The Tower of Terror (TDS) also offers a different twist on set-up and storyline.

I would have put more detail on the building and gave it my own twist but I found it so hard to life the blocks up that high. I had a hard time getting the floor tiles up high. I would love to go through and make it my own because I don't want it to be like everyone elses parks.

Vidgms: you only need to get one floor tile up that high, really. once you have, open up your scenery tab and select the object (floor tile in this case) you want to place at the ridculous height. then, mouse over the one you've already place and hold Ctrl. you can now move around with the heigh locked in at whatever the first floor tile was. give it a try.

Yeah, I know. Thats how I got them up that high. Its just getting them up that high because I have to go to the next zoom out to see the whole screen and when I zoom out it doesn't go up as fast as zoomed in all the way. It's just a pain in the arse to get the first one up to where I want it.

change your screen resolution to something larger....I find that this helps with tall buildings
  • lazyboy97O%s's Photo
Have you tried raising the land underneath and building from the top down? You can then use a trainer to lwer the land without deleting anything you have built.

I just changed the screen resolution. That really helped. Really helped. I actually went and delted the old building and am going to make it my own. Now I will be able to have what I want and not what I copied from a picture.

I have two save games on my computer for this purpose. I still have the old version to go back to and make some changes to in case I decide to keep it and just make it look more original.

So far everything looks very well done. Main Street has a well done and appropriate Disney look to it. Your Tower of Terror has the starting of a similar Disney style to it, the only element it needs is more scenery to make it fit concisely with the actual ride. Add more Hollywood architecture and certainly more themeing from the actual ride. Keep it up!

    glad to be of help

Well, I have spent some time for the last few days and this is what I came up with. I think that the tower design for ToT doesn't look anything like anything else out there in RCT2 for ToT.

    Tell me what you think.

It still looks kinda blocky, but it's a big step up. Try using different textures, windows, roofing variations, etc. to make it look maybe a bit more custom, and a bit aged like the real ToT, because right now it isn't looking very big building or hotelish.

    o.o

    Very Nice.
the form is nice, if a little squarey. nice touch with the stepped roofline on the left. The main tower might be improved by using the stepped roofline as well.

you need more textures and colors. This giant mass of tan doesn't look nearly as good as it could. .. and wtf is that fuschia mass attatched to the wall?

Definately better than before. Still a little blocky and could use some more 'creepy', but your getting closer.

Thats supposed to be the part where the building went to the 5th dimension. If you look at any real ToT you can clearly see that part of the building is missing. In mine That happens. Look below the Purple and and you can see that the top of the building is missing....kinda.

This is only true for the Disney's California Adventure/Walt Disney Studios version of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. The Disney-MGM Studios Tower features a very slight burnt up area, but the sign also sits there (indicating that the building could not have been built there). The Tower shown in the preshow and exit (MGM) is different from the one you physically enter.

I noticed the building missing, which is a very nice touch. However, the rest of the building does not suggest that something should be there. This though, is also a flaw with the real life versions of the Hollywood Tower Hotel.

So are you saying that I should leave it or make it more dark to indicate burns? I tried to make it look like part of the building was missing by adding the wall tiles in scattered on the left to make it like part of the building just disappeared.

The form is great! Excellent imrpovement! It just lacks the details on the exterior walls that the real Tower of Terror has:

No, I'm just pointing out the differences between the designs of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, one dark and the other purple. The walls you left are good. The rest of the building doesn't support them. Maybe make the missing part smaller, as if it was a short tower resting next to the larger one, like in the DCA design.

Sigh... There are two designs for the Hollywood Tower Hotel. One, what you have pictured, is used at the Disney-MGM Studios. The other design, the basis for this, is used at Disney's California Adventure and the Walt Disney Studios Park. Tokyo DisneySea is home to Hightower Hotel, and is void of the Twilight Zone.

I have no idea which one is in the picture I posted. But nevertheless, it's still lacking details^
