I'm not much of a music person, but this playlist has been great to listen to while building. Nice mix of different stuff

I'm listening to the Live album "Stop Making Sense" by the Talking Heads. One of the best musical performances of all time.

I'm a huge fan of Animal Collective, but I would never pick that song as one to share as one of their best. It's still a good song. But there are so many other great choices.

I tried to get into King Crimson last year by listening to In the Court of the Crimson King, but there was no real spark. It seemed a bit uneventful. I'm sure they have a diverse catalogue though, what albums do you recommend for someone who's coming from a progmetal direction and wants some more energy in his music? I'm digging the entire Yes discography btw.

i'm no expert but Red is where I was told people should start (after also kicking CotCK around for years and not getting it) and i agree. Much more of a modern rock sound, you can hear how influential it was, but its still pretty spacey. I've heard that their late-period stuff is considered metal adjacent, but that's where I'm headed last myself. If you like Yes I'd check out Beat and Discipline, they're inspired by Belew's work with the Talking Heads and hit that new-wave-y prog-pop spot real well.

I know, I know, Centipede Hz is the redheaded stepchild of their discography, and while I do have a soft spot for it, it's nowhere near their best. Wide Eyed is one of my favorite songs from them post-MPP tho.

I like Centipede Hz, it was the time I was listening to them the most was when that album came out (was that and Tomboy)
