    i'm listening to this: http://www.purevolum.../OutGoTheLights

its a brand new music project by the worship leader at my church, and our drummer and other guitarist.
i'll most likely end up joining in as well, but it could be a bit tough at first, because i live an hour away.

although he is our worship leader, his first love when it comes to music is indie, and good indie at that.
he used to be in a band back in the early 2000's that toured a bit with yellowcard and other bigger name bands.
eventually they broke up and all got married lol.

but he showed me this demo they just recorded at his house, and i must say it sounds incredible.
theres no vocals yet, just instrumental, but you can already tell its going to be epic.

i have a feeling several of you music guys here on this site will enjoy it:]

They are pretty good I:C, you should definitely get in on that if you can
Kind of reminds me of Explosions in the Sky and not just because there isn't any lyrics
I think if they add in vocals similar to what Weaver at the Loom does it would be great

Not too big a fan of the name though ;)

thats the main thing i lok for in a band, if they can play their stuff live. then it goes onto atmosphere created by the songs, and the overall fun of the gig.

That's stupid and dumb. What about Joy Division? They basically sounded like a more sparse version of typical punk live and in demos, but their records were so influential, inventing a genre (with GoF of course) and helping to usher in modern atmospheric rock.

but yeahh man, i had nothing to do with the name lol.

this is his old band (before he became our worship leader)

so thats an idea of how his vocals sound.
though, its a bit dated lol.

i think this project is going to be mainly instumental stuff though, with few vocals mixed in.

either way, i think its off to a good start:]

    That's stupid and dumb.

Because he looks for something different in the music he enjoys? Wow, that's not conceited at all.
