Ironically, I too am listening to older, 'progressive metal' as I'm reading this thread and see Lukey checking some old Rush. Sweet album, gonna have to take a listen again, it's been awhile.

BTW...saw Blink/Fallout Boy/All American Rejects Friday@ Verizon in Irvine. Great show.....not on the level of GreenDay/Franz Ferdinand @ the Forum last month but, a nice show nonetheless. I thought Blink seemed a bit rusty but fun as always....(though it was cool to see TB back in action) FB had a good set (though Wentz/Ari Gold's jr twin just fucking yakked too much about nothing) as well and AAR was ok (missed probably half of their set getting into the place).
I should have written an in-depth review of GreenDay a few weeks ago since it was such a FUCKING great show (also being the last show of the tour, which is always nice) just because, had I NOT seen GD/FF prior to this show, I'm sure I would have been happily sedated by this lineup. This was a GREAT show....don't get me wrong here....it's just that the GD/FF show was SO much better that I almost felt let down by what I saw by comparison.
BTW...all you fools that proclaim GreenDay as anything other than probably THE best band in the world right now (in another thread).....well, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I've been around, and IN the music biz for over 30 years now and......those guys are just phenomenal. They've transitioned from a raw, punk band into possibly THE most entertaining act on the planet ATM. How long do you want a band with that much talent to just stay 'true to their roots' when they obviously know how to set themselves (and their families) up for several generations to come? They've paid their dues...stayed true to themselves and found a successful formula. The show I saw @ the Forum a few weeks ago was easily the most entertaining concert I've seen in YEARS.
Anyway....Blink/FB/AAR rocked. DAMN, I love live music! -

DAMN, I love live music!
thats the main thing i lok for in a band, if they can play their stuff live. then it goes onto atmosphere created by the songs, and the overall fun of the gig. -
