lol I dont follow wrestling but last night I was clubbing in Manchester and on the way I saw loads of wrestling fans leaving the Apollo arena (or the MEN, one of the two) and figured WWE must be in Europe. Anyway, im there dancing in the club, not getting anywhere with any girls, when the Tallest (and most built) guy I've ever seen walked past, I was like whoa wtf. Apparently it was one of the blokes out of the longest yard. And then litterally about a minute later, this guy walked past...
My friend informed me that he was one of the main dudes in Wrestling I was like who the fuck is it, when he said his name it clicked into place. RVD is it? Man, that guy is about 3 times as wide as me. He was actually bein sound with the crowd that had flocked around him.
I had to laugh cos the bouncers were asking people to back off, me and my mates were havin a laugh with the bouncers saying what would they do if he kicked off. He just laughed and said leave him to it, seriously though you'd need a tranqulizer to take these two wrestlers down lol. I even asked a tall bouncer how tall he was, 6ft 5inch.... he was shaddowed by this other bloke seriously lol. You can imagine how small I felt next at 5ft 10inch.
We tried to get some pictures of them, but my friend in his drunken state took a 2 sec video instead *IDIOT*.
Heh, back to normal life I guess.Edited by Phil, 14 November 2006 - 04:57 AM.

Erm to be honest I've not been to them all, theres a HUGE difference between the biggest, the most popular, and the most up market.
Manchester has a hell of a lot of bars and clubs, all of them are really busy at the weekends and the selection is diverse. It really depends what your into to be honest, you're totally spoilt for choice.
If youre visiting manchester then I can make reccomendations based on your own musical tastes as well as what sort of crowd you want, but theres absolubtly no way that one club can be deemed 'the place to be', because I could list about 10 major clubs. Heres some to search for:
These are the major clubs:
5th Avenue
42nd Street
Tiger Tiger
Pure
Opus
Papparazzi
MTwo
Walkabout
Teasers
And there are a couple of huge and/or well established clubs in the gay village, but I cant remember their names.
There really is an infinate amount of bars and pubs that one would drink at. Im not going to list them all, but the most exclusive ones where footballers and the likes would go:
Coco Rooms (or lounge?)
The Living Room
Cloud 29
and several others which I cant remember the names of.
The club I was in is called Pure and its usually full an odd mixture of Trendy-types and Chavs. Im here pretty much every saturday night. It is prolly the biggest/most popular or there abouts.Edited by Phil, 14 November 2006 - 10:07 AM.

pure sounds cool.
my weekend regular is cocoon club, frankfurt, at the moment.
http://www.cocoonclub.net
it's one of germany's most hyped clubs, and also under the top10 of europe.
more the electronic, futuristic kind of thing.
they have the sickest laser system i've ever seen...
if you like, check pics on main page under "special" for "big city bigs" from last weekend. i was there. what a night ...
so yeah, i'm looking more for the dancing than the sit down and drink type of thing.Edited by posix, 14 November 2006 - 03:25 PM.

Fuck me the lazers certainly pew pew in that club.... I've not found anything like that in manchester yet but Gatecrashers in Sheffield has a similar laser system.
Theres an up market club in Manchester called Ampersand where they mix in live instrumentals over their dance tracks, some of their effects sound awesome.... apparently they use angle grinders on a piece of metal to spray sparks as part of the main stage effects. Its too expensive to go on a regular basis though. Prolly a bit of a pretentious crowd there too. -

haha, what's "pew pew" ?Fuck me the lazers certainly pew pew in that club....
translator knows "pew" as "british, coll." and translates into "platz" which would be "location", "spot" or "place". -

I believe Spirit and Baa Bar are the 2 clubs in the Gay District you are refering too, Phil. I'll admit I'm not much of a clubber, I can live with 5th Avenue but I'd rather sit in the pub and talk with my friends. -

Phil, that place looks awesome. I'm jealous that in the next two nights there you have both Tiga and Tom Novy playing... -

Jem its the club in Germany which has Tom Novy playing, I know though, Im jealous too. We have Orson and David Guetta vs "The Egg" live on stage in Pure next tuesday, to celebrate the launch of the new Virgin Megatstore in Manchester Arndale. I would try and go but I have work in the morning.... we'll have to see. -

ROFLMAO, WWE was in Manchester last week. Rob Van Dam won the WWE champ a few months ago, then go suspended because he got caught driving while high. Seriously.
He's a really cool guy though. You should have went up to him and offered him some blo and smoked it with him. He would have done it.
Khali's one of those big huge guys they hire who have no talent but are huge.
He's also the guy who played the huge Indian guy in that Adam Sandler football movie whose name I'm blanking out on right now. The Longest Yard?
He's fucking huge tho... like Yao Ming tall. And if you haven't figured it out, I'm a wrestling fan (not as much lately, but I've been one since I was like four, so yeah). -
