Hi. Is it alright if I ask if anyone can make a sign for my hotel?
So, I am starting a park and would like to know if anyone would like to make a sign for me.
I would like it to Have:
Hartwood hotel in Black letters
A brown polished wooden background
and a Black outline
No specifics really. Anything will work!
Thanks in advance!
P.S.Was everything helpful? Tell me if you want me to post more information! -

Huh, you should finish your hotel then ask the object (because we do not know if the object will be used)... -

If you could somehow take te standard in game sign into the editor and delete the background(make it invisible), then you could make custom signs like the one requested here. You can add te wooden background and the outline yourself. That would be damn useful. -

@ super_rich: Why did you close this? There was absolutly no reason for that and we are just starting to have a nice discussion here. And since when do we close threads just because on object designer says he won't do the object. There are still lots of people who could do this.
Back on topic:
Your idea Akasha is pretty old. I tried this a long time ago already. A transparent background for signs would be probably one of the must useful objects ever, but it seems impossible.
I used the 2x1 sign from the game and just deleted the background in the object editor and saved it as a new object. So far it works fine, but once you try to start the game with this object in the obj data folder it will give you an error.
I pretty much think there is no way to do this object with the tools we have at the moment, which is the reason nobody did it yet. If somebody knows a way I would really like to know about this. Thanks in advance.
So who is willing to do the requested object? -

Despite the fact that the person who requested it said hes going to use in game signs for it. -

Because that is the only way to do it when nobody else does a sign ...
(But really, when I got mod power here I got this pm saying, ONLY close threads because of spam or flaming. Everything else stays open.) -

It's OK guys. I really don't like the way this project is turning out, so I'm starting another one. Just look for it soon.... -

Custom signs really arn't that hard to do. Obviously, they would be hard to do pixel by pixel in OE like Levis has stated. but all you need is a pre-existing logo from online, or a cool graphic done in PS. Get the dimensions for where you want to place it in the game, and then use a "perspective" tool to resize the logo to all of the RCT in-game views and ta-da! -

I'v been doing this a lot with my park. And I don't have any kind of photoshop or anything liek that either. All you have to do is find a free font download site somewhere, get what you want, download the font, type what your sign should say in paint, and put it in OE. No problems at all, and it comes out okay. I've made quite a few park-specific signs in this manor, and the only trouble with them really is that you ahve to put them against a wall because it'll say the same thing on the back as it does on the front, it won't be backwards.
