so can we do 49 X 100 if blacked out tiles are go?
I asked Iris this question for H2H3 and H2H4 and both times got a "no".
Well I have a lot of ideas for not square benchs. So is this allowed now or not? -

Can I just say two things.
1) Six Frags, Egyptian architecture, as Corky pointed out with regards to the Greek architecture, wasn't dull and colourless. It is nowadays, but that's just because the paint has faded.
2) I think a lot of people are looking at the Hurricane's park the wrong way, expecting an ultra-themed IOA style park and feeling let down. What if that wasn't the idea in the first place? -

Turtle, when I think of Greek architecture (in RCT) I'm thinking Natelox' 'The Aegean (Athina)'. When I'm thinking of Egyptian architecture I'm thinking Ed's 'Egyptopia'.. Not some IOA interpreted sub-style.. If you go back to the foundations of the Egyptian and Greek architecture, they were both made out of mud bricks. (http://www.reshafim....ics/housing.htm, http://oncampus.rich....ecearch1.html).. Where did you find that they were colourful? They indeed had fresco's and mosaic incorporated in their architecture, but that was mainly for the rich.
And the colour is not the only thing that bugs me, I think some more bricks in the texture selection would've added to the theme.. Same goes for the forms; The were mainly rectangles with flat roofing (in Egypt)..
But whatever, they have won, it's still an awesome entry and I'm just nitpicking anyway

Could you make an LL park and use the off the edge of the map hack?
It's been done before. The rules are about how much land you can have, not how far off the map you can go -- though if you were planning to have six Mala-esque hyper coasters dueling each other in the blank off the map space (a good idea) and a 70x70 park on the land space too, it might be a good idea to ask for permission first. -

Ouch.
Tierra Aventura was made by Steve (*gasp! and JK.
Cherokee Canyons was made by RCTNW and, um, crap, my memory sucks.... Hobbes? (correct me if I'm wrong; deep apologies if I was wrong). -

Congrats Steve and JK, no hard feelings. I really did think the park was nice. The naming still irks me though. -

Haha. That made me laugh. Thanks Chris.oh my ah gawd i think i just blew a tierray aventuray load
Thank you for taking a second look at it, Ed. I'll admit I'm not the most creative person on this site, and I'm obviously not trying to be. I just build what I think looks good. I agree that it might look better in screenshots than the actual game, though. Thanks dude.Since obviously this match was over before it started anyway, you won't mind me pointing out that the Hurricanes park, however good it may look, has just one significant ride in it too, and it's not even a particularly interesting one. That's the kind of park which looks great in screenshots, but then you look at it in the game and it's mostly disappointing. I'm not saying our park is better, since clearly it's not, but architecture aside there isn't much going on in the Hurricanes park either. Oh I know, it's all about the details. And some of them are quite nice. I like the window dressing, I'm still waiting to see the window.
EDIT: Actually, the park is much better than I initially gave it credit for. It's a different style than I'm used to, but it isn't just window dressing. A lot of those details have a clear sense of purpose behind them. And I do like the snakes and the piranhas, even if the adventure ride itself is fairly flat and boring. You've themed it well. And the landscaping is all very impressive and the precise placement of bushes and trees too. And a lot of the buildings are very nicely crafted. And you clearly put a lot of thought into the correct placement of benches and queue lines and dining areas and signs and walls and pretty much every amusement park detail imaginable. It's a very well-done realistic RCT2 amusement park recreation. I'm bored to death of amusement park recreations with one major coaster in them. Especially when there's also a mine-cart themed adventure ride, a "water sphere" and a big empty cliffside -- but I suppose that's no reason to take it out on you. I could be accused of building the same sorts of things myself back in the day. For what it is, it's very well done. Superbly well done in fact. I'm still disappointed your two rides are a realistic B&M inverter with custom supports and a somewhat generic adventure ride (see my similarly critical response to The Seige of Castle Grijs) but I shouldn't let that cloud my view of the whole park. Which is, I admit, quite impressive. You definately know how to get the most from RCT2. And I still maintain that this park is far better for taking screenshots of than actually looking at in the game.
Are you kidding me?cane's park is 80 x 80, and last time a park that was not near finished nor had even a chance at willing was dq'ed for being too big. Yes I know there is blacked out land but technicalities can ruin everything can't they...
And John, you couldn't have been more right about it! Thanks for the feedback, though. I'll come clean and say that the park is very incoherent, but hey, look at other theme parks like IOA. They have dinosaurs, children's book characters and superheroes. Maybe we can just call it about even?Tierra Aventura? ¿En serio? ¡Los Huracánes son locos!
There was nothing Egyptian, Greek or Spanish about Tierra Aventura... it looked like an amusement park more than a theme park. It was incredibly disappointing given the capabilities of the maker(s).
What a complete mockery of the distinct and vibrant characteristics that Egyptian, Greek and Spanish culture have. It's quite insulting, especially when most actual theme parks make some attempt to mimick the theme. Granted, the quality of the park was nice, there was just no cohesiveness in the themes.
I'm not sure which is worse: an unfinished park, or one that has no regard for the intended themes.
OK, you guys win. It doesn't look like egypt or greece. We get it.Hmmm, that's not really true tE; It doesn't even remotely look like Egypt and Greece.. Egypt itself is old and has none of those vibrant colours in the architecture.. Greece mainly has white marble-ish buildings.. I'm sure this person could tackle this, seeing as he is one of my favourite parkmakers, but he just sticks to his style what he thinks is safe.. These buildings in Egypt look almost identical as to his buildings he entered in a certain contest..
Just check out the screens I've posted of the supposted 'themed' areas in the Canes park and maybe you'll see what I meant..
Don't get me wrong, I think it's one of the best parks this h2h season and I love all of this parkmaker's work, but theming wise it misses it's point totally, imo.. Technically it's very impressive..

Thank you Ed, for summing up the park in under 5 sentences. Does every park need to look like IOA? I could have called the park Six Flags Tierra Aventura and people would probably just think to themselves "oh okay it doesn't need to be amazing like IOA cos it's six flags".I thought the theme was a traditional amusement park with an Egypt and a Greece section in it. In which case it fits it's theme very well. Not every "theme park" is going to go to IOA level extremes of theming.
1)Yes it was meant to be that way.^^Didn't I cover it enough then?
I doubt it was meant that way Ed..
Why don't most people do read-me's anymore
SF
2)Readme's take too long and honestly, I don't think a park as simple as this needs one.
OK, you caught me on this one; I got lazy around that last helix. So sue me.Supporting was spot on? The final helix is being held up by hopes and dreams.
Thank you hobbes and RCTNW for not forfeiting. I enjoyed that woody a lot, along with everything else too.
And thank you J K for building with me. You're very good at this game. -

^ Doesn't particularly matter now... considering they called it and all.
Anyway, the Canes park was far better... really quality entry.
Obviously, parts of the coaster bothered me- especially the transfer track that couldn't work. But it was a good entry. -

Congrats to Steve and JK for a quality park.
Although it's no excuse, we had several issues around timing with our park. I can say that this will be our only incomplete park the tigers submit so don't expect it to happen again.
I want to thanks Hobbes for getting as mush done as he could given the time. Although incomplete, it was him that allowed us to submit what we did have. -

It's amazing to me how the Canes' and Tycoon Bandits' parks have been so much consistently better than those of any other teams. -

That's because Kumba's got the mad captain skills.
