well, see my point is that a rule is a rule, and if my speculation posts keep getting removed then I don't see why this other rule, which imo has actual merit, shouldn't be followed. The thing is this, if you allow people to use larger workbenches that are just blackened out on the edges, what else would you allow? Is a 49 x 100 park allowed, one that would enable the builders to build a larger out and back coaster that wouldn't be possible in a square park? Not to mention you also open up the ability to use sections of terrain in other people's parks as your workbench, like the volcano in vtd's disneysea for example, and then the parkmakers who made the park really had help, didn't they?
Basically if a rule is made, then teams that should have read the rules more than 5 weeks ago should adhere to them. If you let this park go un-dq'ed, you set a precedent that cannot be reversed. A rule is a rule.
And I have nothing to gain personally by saying all of this, if anything it would help a rival team's chances in my division. But I'd rather lose fairly then win the other way. -

I went for the hurricanes. The coaster was good (though I didn't like the zero-g that Tracid pointed out) with some nice supports and interesting colour scheme. The architecture was generally good and I liked that show thing too, good job.
I really enjoyed the woodie in the Tigers (apart from the way it ended...urgh). Really nice and flowing (at least from the angle that the park opened with). Shame there wasn't anything else really.

^Brilliant Holmes.
I just don't understand what is so hard about the workbench size. I still voted Hurricanes though.
Oh and I tried to log on while looking at this topic and it kind of fucked up. -

pity that the tigers' park is unfinished, as in concept it could have been superb. it's matches like these that could drag the norm in h2h away from the center and the formulaic, but instead drag it back towards it because the park that has balls isn't finished.
but i might end up voting for cherokee canyons because it has balls and has no seeming desire to fit into an h2h straitjacket. like ed, tierra aventura was exactly the kind of one-coaster park that was pissing me off at the beginning of the season. even though CC has one coaster as well, it's long enough to be about three by today's standards.
nevertheless congrats hurricanes.Edited by Panic, 15 August 2006 - 10:58 AM.

The amount of used land in TA is 68x68, I counted it, twice. I also double checked the rule with iris and he said blank space does not count.
I did not think Cherokee Canyons was that bad, I enjoy'ed the huge coaster and I really liked that weird wooden bridge on that one ciffside, but I have no idea what it was. Not that bad a park imo, but it was just to empty to contend vs. a park like TA
I very happy with how our guys did for this week, this was planned to be our week 4 park, but when I saw how strong it was looking I said to myself 'We can't let Cork beat this'. I loved the coasters layout, it looks perfect, tho is a bit slow when going throught some of it's elements. The Eygpt area was my fav, I loved those bright signs in it, the greece area was also pretty nice, some great details mixed in there, then there was that bayside kinda area that endded at the shpaer thing, very nice work on that. You know honestly I think our chances of winning would have been better if we named the park after the coolest thing in it and called it "The park with snakes in a pit!" -

I loved the whole concept of the tigers park, was really nice. I voted for TA though. -

Tierra Aventura? ¿En serio? ¡Los Huracánes son locos!
There was nothing Egyptian, Greek or Spanish about Tierra Aventura... it looked like an amusement park more than a theme park. It was incredibly disappointing given the capabilities of the maker(s).
What a complete mockery of the distinct and vibrant characteristics that Egyptian, Greek and Spanish culture have. It's quite insulting, especially when most actual theme parks make some attempt to mimick the theme. Granted, the quality of the park was nice, there was just no cohesiveness in the themes.
I'm not sure which is worse: an unfinished park, or one that has no regard for the intended themes. -

Yeah John...you sound like a bitter Ferocious Tiger right now. You don't know which is worse? Honestly? -

Obviously Tierra Aventura was better than Cherokee Canyons, but a park that isn't true to the theme isn't much better than an unfinished park.
Honestly I am not bitter, but given what I've seen from the creator before, Tierra Aventura was a letdown. I mean, when you theme something, it should make an attempt at portraying the theme, no? -

How did you know Cork was building in week 4?I very happy with how our guys did for this week, this was planned to be our week 4 park, but when I saw how strong it was looking I said to myself 'We can't let Cork beat this'.
My vote went to the Hurricanes because it was a better park, plain and simple. -

^ We covered this. Kumba heavily assumed. Given the fact that he traded me and that I build fast.
@ Ed: I have had it with all these motha fucking snakes on this motha fucking pit!!!! -

"I'm here tonight to present the award everyone's been waiting for: best H2H park. Now, this award holds a special place in my heart because next year I'll be winning it for Snakes in a Pit. Now I know, I know that sounds cocky, but I don't give a damn. I am guaranteeing that Snakes in a Pit will win best H2H park next year. Does not matter what else is coming out. Some new Coaster Ed shit... no snakes in that! Cork's next Cliffia park... where my snakes at? Fatha' Grinch... green, but not a snake. No park shall triumph over Snakes in a Pit. Unless I happen to feel like making a park called Mo' Motha-fuckin' Snakes in Mo' Motha-fuckin' Pits." -

Uh, the park is 80x80. I thought you had to be approved to use anything larger than 70x70...the Tigers had to be approved week1 to use a larger map, and we had a good reason.
