Wii.
Mainly because of Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy. Plus the awesome controllers. -

I'd prolly go with Wii, myself. It's small and I'm hoping for some games that'll be more interactive with the body. If someone came out with Rygar or any ninja game, I might be able to defend myself from zombies or even other ninjas! -

I'm like Mantis in that my newest system (not counting my Gameboy Advance) is my N64. So, assuming I actually get a new system, I'll either get X-Box 360 or Wii. I'm leaning towards Wii, since I prefer the more fun type games, and Smash Bros is always good. However, I'd also like to get some kind of DDR game, and I don't think Nintendo has carried any in the past, so I don't know that they will in the future either. And Halo 3 looks enticing as well. But, I'm guessing that Wii will win me over with the price.
PS3 is far too asspensive. They will probably fail. -

Wii for Super Smash Bros Brawl and whatever Mario Kart incarnation that's coming along. But I am gonna say, Halo 3 is gonna be hot shit. -

PS3 is retarted, because:
-they're selling selling it at like $750 for the not useless version
-all of the "demos" were actually cinematic sequences, and the graphics aren't really that great
-they started off with a really bad controller design and then tried to take Nintendo's idea
Wii is okay:
-because the graphics ain't bad-looking
-it's innovative
-But the name "Wii" is just plain stupid
The Xbox360 (having already had one for several months):
-insane graphics
-some really nice game titles, like TES IV: Oblivion, and Call of Duty 2.
-they got it out early, so everyone's already got a great console before both of the others
-Halo 3 had better be the greatest game ever
so, yeah, 360 wins my vote. -

Greatest game ever--Smash Brothers sixty four. My buddy has it on it his sys, and we litterally spent hours fucked up and playing that game...
You know..we had our good ol' debate going on over war and all that insignificant shit....but when I see you saying something as important as this...I can't help but love you. SSB is easily the best game, ever. Period. And if you disagree...fuck off and go cross a busy street blindfolded.
And Xcoaster, I have to disagree. The PS3 is hardly asspensive. Or at least I hope it isn't. That would just be plain wierd.Edited by eman, 04 August 2006 - 09:47 PM.

That's a shit reason to base your opinion off of.
How often do you say the system's name anyway? When talking with my friends, I normally say the game I want to play, not the system I want to play it on. -

PS3 should have learned from the origional xbox, a shit ton of hardware for a high price is a bad idea... -

Blu Ray will be the death of Sony if they don't drop it. HD DVD has kicked its ass in every aspect and now the Blu Ray is killing the PS3.Edited by chapelz, 05 August 2006 - 11:51 AM.

I'll have to say Xbox360, because of exclusive XSN sports games (like Project Gotham Racing 3, Amped, etc). Plus I have Xbox games so if I understand well, we can play Xbox games on a Xbox360 console? -

A next-gen DVD type, I believe. It's expensive because Sony has a monopoly on it and can charge just about what they want for it.

Why does everyone complain about the PS3 being too expensive. It's expected to cost $599 for the premium, which includes the console being wifi-internet ready and online play being free. This means that my Xbox360 with Gold live membership and the wifi adapter will have costed just as much as the PS3 after 2 years, and more for every year thereafter. Also, my Xbox360 lacks BD technology, which isn't a big deal now, but likely will be in the future. And the 2 systems have comparable game lineups. Personally, I think the PS3 is better than the Xbox360 for the mostpart, since the costs are comparable in the longrun, and the PS3 has many features that the xbox360 lacks. The only setback: PS3 games are likely going to cost upwards of $60. -

I'm going to get the Wii. All of the games look so fun. And that's why I want to play games, to have fun. I could care less if it has some next-gen format, or high-def graphics... if the games aren't fun, I'm not buying. Innovation and gameplay > graphics. -

Which makes the PS3 more expensive, or at least about equal, over both short AND long term. The only setback: PS3 games are likely going to cost upwards of $60.

Well, yea. But everyone's been acting like it's rediculously expensive, and then saying that's why they'd refer the xbox360, and I'm pointing out that the PS3 really isn't much more expensive than the xbox360 if at all, so that's not a good reason to prefer the xbox360. -

I have an xbox. i won't buy a 360 until we own a high definition tv. Wii is nintendo, and I havent much cared for the last two consoles. Wish sega would make a new one. I won't buy a ps3 anytime soon because they're 650 bucks. i like my xbox, lol. -

Sega's gone, bud. They announced they were moving strictly to game development after the Dreamcast (which was a damn solid system) sold poorly. I believe anticipation of the PS2 was to blame for that, though I could be wrong.
I believe it was eman who pointed out that PS3 will have free online wifi, and is therefore cost effective. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't the Wii also have free wifi? And it will probably be at least half the price? Sure, the graphics won't be on the same level, but speaking strictly financially, the Wii has it in the bag in the online department. Assuming the games and community can ensure it to be worthwhile, of course. -

Well yea, the Wii is in a price range of its own. But the major concern for me regarding it is what will games with those controllers actually be like. I'm thinking it'll be one of those things that's fun for a few months, and then you're tired of it. The exact opposite of the N64 in other words.
