Haha I hadn't heard that story at all over here.
I'm not surprised they didn't have much interest. If you're serious enough about your religion that you'd want segregation on rides, perhaps you're serious enough to prefer staying at home praying?

Some couple was supposed to get married that day, and some crazy shit went down after or something... read somewhere.

Methinks the double booked Fun Day/wedding was the real reason this was postponed.

It was a silly idea anyway in my opinion. How can you have rules like that and have fun. I read in a paper that there was to be no music all day. What a bland day that would make. Queueing (sp?) for Rita is only just bearable because of the awesome tunes they play.

I suppose queueing wouldn't have been much of a problem if there were only men/only women going on at a time.
I do remember seeing a group of schoolgirls from a muslim school at Drayton Manor and they seemed perfectly capable of having a good day out on a normal opening day.
