I'm trying to hack a path across a railroad track. I can do this no problem when the track is only one unit wide, but I've got the track layed out so that it's two units wide... whenever I lay path down, it breaks up into indivual squares. Anyone know how to solve this?
Edit: you can tell I haven't posted in years by looking at my sig.. hahEdited by CoasterWizard, 30 June 2006 - 05:03 PM.

fatha' explained it to me. and then i forgot, so i came up with my own method, but it uses the "set scenery base height" feature, which is a pain in the ass to get comfortable with like i have. if you still want me to explain, i will, but it might be confusing. -

I just do the zero clearances and set it right over the path button. I click really quickly after hitting zero and it generally works. Sometimes you just gotta repeat it a couple times, but the trick for me has always been to go fast with it. -

Dunno if it's RCT 2 or LL you're talking about (guessing the prior), but try it in different orders. Make the track first, then build the path through. If that doesn't work, do the opposite?
I dunno. It's been years since I've played LL, so all the hacks I used to know how to do have gone into permanent storage. -

in rct2 you can do it with object maniuplation of the 8 cars trainer, but I don't think the 4 cars trainer has that option to ?
if it does have it you can build the path above the track first (also on the side of the track) than you can lower it to the base height. -

i'd do what tracid was talking about. buildthe path over it either side too, and then lower it down to the same level. the ride should still work because it'll all still be at the same height. -

rctfreak2000, can only do it your way with single wides.
double-wides won't connect where the track crosses them.
beast's set scenery base height is the only way i know.
and, this is for ll. look topic title. -

Hmm, I've done a lot of hacking paths over rides and it seems to me the only real trick is clicking very very fast. You can build a path over anything (golf stations for example) and have it be as long as you like but you've got to have the path cursor blinking on the build next path button and then hit zero clearances right on top of it so you click the button immediatly after. Pretty much the same thing you do when merging tracks. If you want an example, look at some of the buildings near the station of Aquatica. I hacked a path around a corner inside one of them. It took a lot of failed attempts to get it, but it eventually worked. A train crossing shouldn't be any more trouble than that.
