When you guys make parks you should create a strory about the park. Instead of hears a pic, theres another pic. It adds realism, and makes it more interesting -

so buttonsso?
Seriously, though, I think its a good idea if a park has a back story.
But the problem I have with this thread is that most of the parks on this site DO have backstories, so there is no need for the complaint.Edited by ride_exchanger, 19 June 2006 - 02:47 PM.

heh, bollocks.
the reason why no one finishes a solo nowadays is because people don't put their mind to it.
4/5 people on this site play only to post screens in the a.d. and they don't even know it.
i mean what, we are now posting screens of designs? and not even those get finished?
anyway, we've had this before, and i've been posting these shitty wise-ass comments all over...
it's not like things are to change. -

haha, Nic, you're the shit. and when i say shit, i don't mean it figuratively. "red scare is over" my ass. -

Phil's right, as always. You people need to stop making parks to win a spotlight, and start just making parks. -

what exactly do we mean by, "stories"? like a construction kind of update thing goin' or something more to the effect of made-up history on each building and coaster? -

Here's a crazy idea: Why don't you let people make a park how they want? If they don't want a story, then so what? It's up to them. -

Metropole, I agree. There is no need for a story for a park. IT is also the users decision. -

I ask anyone to look at how many Spotlights, Runner-Ups, Designs etc. over the past few years have had a huge overbearing planning element to them instead of just deciding on themes/basic plans and then having fun building. Or how many have had a storyline.
No offense to anyone, but in my opinion huge amounts of planning or storytelling behind a park isn't the solution, it's the problem.Edited by Panic, 19 June 2006 - 10:22 PM.

also, you never do.I fall into the category of posting pics of designs and of playing to win spotlight
metropole, your point is true.
i am not saying that people are playing "the wrong way".
and it also happened to me that i was so on the "plan your parks and they'll be awesome" hype that i didn't play just to get the planning done first.
too much fussing, i know.
but, what is your solution to keep oneself from canceling a project?
how many advertised projects do you see in the ad that actually get finished?
by now i think a huge background story to everything is something that if it doesn't come natural to you shouldn't be done.
at least, when making parks, know what you're building and why. it takes a second to make that up.
sure, it's fun to just click things together as they come, add a little flowers, rocks and waterfalls.
but sooner or later, things stop coming to you. in that very moment, the project is cancelled for most, i'd say. some merely keep on playing because they're too fond with it to see it go, albeit the fun part is lost.
my opinion is that parks where you can see the parkmaker really had an intention in mind or plays out his huge knowledge (look at phatage's realistic stuff) are just ...epic. and i want epic parks and no others, alright?
cbass too. his style isn't for me, but you can see his works make sense all out. he became somewhat legendary in no time.
but whatever, the bottom line is, everyone must play the game as he likes.
