Ask the Experts / Download Help

Ok so everytime i go and download something it comes up as an original RCT2 icon on winzip. So when i click on it, it brings me up to the game but not the download. And it doesnt say anything. It just loads the game. Is there anything i can do?

It's best you put things like this in 'Ask The Experts' cos that's where people help out with the games.

what kind of download do you download ?

a park download. ex. disney dreams. doesnt work. idk y

have you considered unzipping the folder

it does automatically onto winzip. then it just loads the game, when u click on the icon.

Well, since the saved game doesn't actually exist in your saved games folder, the RCT can't find it. You need to extract the saved game file to your saved game folder. Just like you would do with a track file into your tracks folder or downloaded objects in your objdata folder.

i tried what u said. when i extracted it to the saved games folder and loaded rct2 it wasnt there. when i download it and it opens up in my winzip it isnt a saved game file type. its just rct2 game file type. the icon is like the icon for rct2.

Exactly what is the filename and extension you are trying to download/install? Saved games (.SV6) go in your saved games folder; track files (.TD6) go in your tracks folder; scenery files (.dat) go in your objdata folder and will be available in new scenarios you create.
