Has anyone ever run into the problem of where you can't drag the slider down, at all, in the object selection page?

Yes. It means you have too many objects in your Object Data folder and you need to get rid of some of them. If you have Wacky Worlds or Time Twister you are almost certain to get this problem and you should uninstall them because the new stuff you get in them is poor anyway apart from a select few things that have been made into regular RCT2 scenery. If not, then you need to clear out your Object Data folder. The best way is probably to uninstall RCT2 making sure you have your saved games in a seperate folder with the "Export Plug-ins" option selected so it loads the scenery from the park when you open it next.
