Meh, it's not much, but you get the idea.
EDIT* I'll get a more finished screen up later, maybe.Edited by trav, 28 April 2006 - 09:34 AM.

Looks a little undersupports somehow. perhaps one more supports in there would help if you moved the middle one over a little. -

I'll jump on the support screenshot bandwagon.
Also just a bit of a sidenote. Many of the screenies posted have glitching with the top support on inverts or fliers glitching with the track, to avoid this and get better realism you can move up the top support one height increment and then add a centered support piece w/ flange connecting to the track.Edited by eman, 29 April 2006 - 04:10 PM.

I don't see how to latest screen looks any realistic.
Have you ever looked at B&M supports? If not better do so. You will notice that they do not use any supports close to what you have in that screen.
Either chance the supports or use some Intamin Coaster for that.
Your Coaster also doesn't have a predop, which can be seen as wrong on a big B&M Coaster. Just very few don't have a predrop, like Goliath, Tatsu ... and I don't know a B&M coaster with a 90° turn as first drop without a predrop. [Please correct me if I'm wrong here. I don't know all B&M's at all ]
The fact that you have the chain go back down under the track is good, but it should end at the beginning of the lifthill. As you have it there it won't work at all.
The pieces going down from the lifthill to the chain shouldn't be the supports aswell. When B&M uses those (like on Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia) they aren't as thick as the supports. I would say some wooden poles made by toon would fit in better there. Just don't paint them brown and they will look like steel.
Next is the lifthill. As far as I know the chain doesn't end on top of the lifthill but ends somewhere on the predrop. I think they want to pull the train over the highest point and not push it. If you could change that aswelll it would be great.
So if one wants to use those supports and go for realism please do it correct. This fake realism really makes me mad.Edited by Magnus, 30 April 2006 - 03:27 AM.

Uhm, Magnus, 4 out the 6 B&M megacoasters don't have a predrop. Only Raging Bull and Apollo's Chariot have one. -

LOL Magnus, don't take the screenie too seriously, I'm just showing what can be done with the supports, so it was a bit incomplete. I can actually explain just about every problem you adressed. The supports are a bit overdone because Tte supports are a bit thin to make the usual simplistic supports used for the tops of B&M lifthills, so I went for more complex supports such as the middle one seen on Scream's lifthill. There is no predrop and a 90 degree turn for originality. Obviously it would be possible since B&M has rides without predrop's and 90 degree drops, they just haven't really combined the 2 yet. The chain starts where it does because there is a small drop before the lift, and the chain actually won't start until where the chain ends under the lift. Once again, this is something not seen on any current B&M's, but its definitely feasible with B&M's current lift chain and motor. The lift has already been changed to go past the top rather than just to it, and as for the support pieces holding up the chain under the lifthill, they were just there for filler, eventually I'll likely change them to something more accurate. -

@eman: I see you have your reasons for what you are doing and that is good. It's just that I'm of a different opinion. The screen is not bad at all and I never wanted to say that. It's just that people call soemthing realistic which obviously isn't realistic.
As to the 90 degree turn first drop without predrop: I don't think it is possible with the current technology. They will at least have to have a straight first part and have the chain end on that part, because I highly doubt it can go arround a turn.

So I just decided to post my first try on using the supports. It's not perfect yet and there are some things I will change, but I still wanted to share. *cough* damn h2h4 draft *cough*
The chainlift return is a fake in here. It will glitch ingame and I just fixed that on the screen. Not that you wonder about that and it is no new objectyet. Apart from that it is floating which is wrong of course. I just don't have the object I wanted to use for that on the benchyet.
The footers and the blocks under it are way too high. This will be fixed, by raising the land underneath, if this will ever get further than what you can see on the screenshot.
The right pole on the tripple support on the left side of the screen will get this red thing in the middle. (I really don't know what they are called in your language.) I already have that fixed ingame, but didn't want to take a new screen of that because of the small manipulation in there.
Yes that's it. And not to forget. I love you Toon! -

nice screen dude but this screens seems to be outdated. you mentioned 3 or 4 things you changed or want to change. why dont you just do it and come up with a new screen. normaly you dont seem to be a lazy person. alright. ehm the whole grass on your screen is mowed... is that kind of a trainer thing or was there really a handyman doing this stuff? never saw that before -
Magnus Offline
that handyman is called 8cars:
staff->handyman->mow grass->"stripes"
And I'm really lazy. -

Great screen magnus. Probably the best realistic use of the supports I've seen yet, but I can't help but think back to mantis' comment about 'adventurous landscapes'....I mean, that looks nice and all, but I think it would be even more realistic if you made some attempt at a landscape...
I guess your comments indicate you plan to remove some footers to raise the land and what not....so you might just ignore me... -
RCTFAN Offline
In response to that comment.
Adventurous landscaping will not cease. It's just that parkmakers will haev to build supports last once they have everything else done (which is the complete opposite to real life lol).
However if you want the uber realistic approach to supports, you could do some basic landscaping and add supports, then build up ''themeing'' landscaping around supports aka Black Mamba style.
Believe ME, these supports do not stop adventurous or indeed, ''life like'' landscaping. There will be no parking lot coasters on NE. -
Magnus Offline
I just showed this screen to make you (JKay) draft me and I already had plans for landscaping. I just think the coaster and supports should be done first. That seems to be the only way to get the supports fit the landscape.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I was already expecting to hear something from youBelieve ME, these supprots do not stop adventurous or indeed, ''life like'' landscaping. There will be no parking lot coasters on NE.
I wouldn't be too sure of that. And there is already one. Just have a look at the designsEdited by Magnus, 01 May 2006 - 10:28 AM.

No B&M has that much straight track after the predrop, except for Apollos Chariot. Your screen doesn't look very realistic to me, and the footers are ugly.Edited by geewhzz, 01 May 2006 - 01:05 PM.
