LOL, do you mean the rocks, Gwazi? I admit they are a bit cartoonish (I made them myself, btw) and I wouldn't do it like that if I had to make them again right now, but on the other hand, there still isn't an acceptable alternative for them in RCT. (Those Zoo Tycoon rocks most definitely aren't!)

^ Yeah. No offense to you or anything about me saying I didn't like how the rocks were made. That is just my opinion of them. I like more RCT2-esque objects if you know what I mean. You are right, though, about there being no better alternative. Except for the rocks in Beagle's park, but those are too big. Anyway, sorry if I insulted you. -

Not at all, Gwazi! I do see your point! Maybe I'll try again and make some better rocks someday. Seeing what is around it obviously is harder than it looks at first. Yet I do think we are lacking some good 1/4 rocks in the game.
Thanks trav! Todd build that one and I quite agree with you. By now we have a total of 17!! coasters in the park, duelling ones counted as one. All older coaster types are present!
Thanks James! Todd and I always loved to work together and it is good to hear it shows.

Nice screen! And personally I don't mind your use of custom rocks here, Mama Bear, but I think there is an abrupt change from rocks to grass in that screen. Perhaps a more gradual transition, with dirt and shrubs in between the rocks and the grass, would be more appropriate? Just a suggestion, though. -

Thanks everyone!
I've been looking at Japanese gardens on the internet, ride_exchanger, and you often see an "island" of rocks in a "sea" of lawn or the other way round. That is what I was trying to do there. But I will look into it again once we start "fine-tuning" the park.Nice screen! Just to amuse you, a few stats of the park sofar :
The park has 77 attractions including 16 (duelling and moebius counted as one!) coasters.
134 shops, stalls and facilities.
129 staff.
The 16 coasters together have:
Total ride length: 50.596 ft = 9.58 miles!
Longest ride length: 4.912 ft (the Insane Insomnular)
Total ride time: 27 min 35 sec.
Longest ride time: 2 min 51 sec (the Reverser)
Average speed on them is: 16.4 mph
Highest speed: 82 mph ( Insane Insomnular and Firestarter)
Average excitement: 7.70
Highest excitement: 10.02 (The Insane Insomnular)
Average Intensity: 7.18
Highest Intensity: 8.97 (the duelling woodie)
and a total of 139 drops. Highest drop is 193 ft (Insane Insomnular).
Todd (being our coaster expert) will make a list of all our coasters with manufacturers and the like for the park's read-me.
Several of our coasters are built with a RL coaster in mind (for instance, Insane Insomnular - Thunder Dolphin).
All older types are present in the park so you'll find 100 years of coaster history in it!
More screenshots (and news about Albert!!) soon.....

Well, as previously mentioned, the island photographer Albert von Buieren has been found!
He was discovered in an outbuilding near one of the island hotels. He was simply terrified, mumbling something about a curse or a black mark that had been set upon him! Naturally, this greatly puzzled the investigators. They new they needed to quickly get to the bottom of this. If rumors of the curse were spread around the island, it would be very damaging to the high reputation the Insomnia family has developed for their island paradise! Island attendance would plummet!
After many hours of coercing information from Albert, they learned of a cave that he had recently found. Inside the cave, Albert claims that he came across the ghost of one of the original four brothers who were banished to the island for committing piracy. Albert described how the ghost set a curse upon him, declaring that the caves were the original resting place for the plundered gold of the four brothers. Now that the caves and the gold had been disturbed, Albert, the trespasser, would be cursed for time without end!
Albert was able to give a rough estimate of where he was when he discovered the cave, so the island investigators assembled and set out to find this ghost…….
The inspectors setting out to find the caves!

I love the atmosphere that color/texture combo creates. I'd suggest putting in a few more of the little green bushed underneith those flowery things, but wow... I really really like it.

Oh, well if you had a real world basis for your design, then forget my comments, don't make changes based on my ignorance in the field of Japanese gardensI've been looking at Japanese gardens on the internet, ride_exchanger, and you often see an "island" of rocks in a "sea" of lawn or the other way round. New screen looks really good too, BTW, I love the way you have enclosed the Carousel!Edited by ride_exchanger, 21 January 2007 - 10:03 PM.

it's .. pleasant? but not anything terribly special to me.
the carousel is very nice, and the colors work well.. i dunno. nothing jumps out at me. -

^lol, at least the investigators do "jump out". Or in any case they were supposed to in the above pic. The search is still going on......We will keep you informed.
In the mean time we are working hard and are making good progress. There are about 3 smaller area's that still need to be filled and then we can start fine-tuning, naming and the like!
Some pics of the "Insomnia Zoo":
The tropical garden with a small aquarium and a flamengo colony.
The turtle beach. When it is the season the seaturtles lay their eggs here. (It is off season now...no seaturtles, lol)
The African Elephant exhibit.
The Tiger exhibit. We showed part of it before but some things were changed and the area now is finished.
The Gorilla exhibit. The gorillas can be seen from one of the veranda's of the "Fisherman's Friend" restaurant.
And last but not least, the Panda exhibit.
As you can see a zoo train is taking visitors through the various exhibits. It is only a small zoo and entirely dedicated to endangered species.
Enjoy!

Wow, I like the zoo alot, the atmosphere in each exhibits is really well executed. I also liked how the seagulls are flying around the seaturtle's area. -

^LOL, they really were endangered: At a certain point I would have loved to drawn them all.......When the zoo was roughly done we put in the "animals". They kept on "escaping" and were found running the public paths. We had to redo all the exhibits, making paths in them and assign the "animals" to those paths to keep them in.
Lol, yes, waiting for a "snack"........Wow, I like the zoo alot, the atmosphere in each exhibits is really well executed. I also liked how the seagulls are flying around the seaturtle's area.
Thanks, everyone!
