OK, here's the deal. Every time I start a project on RCT2, I NEVER finish it. I always find that I seriously jacked it up, so I toss it aside. Does any body have any hints on how to start and actually stick with it? Is there somewhere I should start?Edited by Ruiz, 23 March 2006 - 08:50 PM.

PM, MSN, or AIM posix. He's got good advice on planning projects.
For the most part though, here's what I do:
- Learn what you can build. Just open up the PT2 bench (or some other blank bench) and just build stuff. Sketch it out in game.
- Use the ideas you know you can implement to plan out the park.
- Build coasters and major landscaping, then paths, then architecture.
Start small. Do a mini (say, 90x90) to start out with, then move up to a large-scale solo.
Just my $0.02

Thanks, I'll take it into consideration. (Good thing too. I was going to make a huge park.) -

Like what ACE said, start small...maybe a 50x50 first. Then gradually add more land with every park.
There won't be much land but at least you completed something... -

Just do what you want.
If you don't finish it so be it, if you want to get better some day just keep doing what you want. -

chapelz does landscaping first?
that screws your whole project, if you ask me.
the landscape should be modified to fit the park. not vice-versa.
anyway,
again the same thing over and over.
don't just click, have an intention with it.
do not build randomly, have something in mind you want to create.
and until you haven't created your ideas, you will keep trying. so the more ideas and vision you have for a project, the higher the chance is you'll finish. -

I like to do landscaping first because sometimes it creates challenges in creating the park and its always fun to come up with a unique solution to the problem.
Architecure = buildings, bridges, general structures btw.Edited by chapelz, 25 March 2006 - 02:43 PM.

Okay... the only reason I asked was because when it comes to RCT, people have different definitions for "architecture". -

i have a question that i didn't want to start a whole new thread for...
what does it mean in the registration form part of the site when it says "observing daylight savings time?"? does it mean do you follow it or not, does it mean 'is the clock turned forward right now', or does it mean 'is the clock turned back an hour now'?
