I finally got around to updating my web site. Here are some pics I added (plus several dozen more that can be seen starting here):

    So yeah... cheap plug. :D

I like this one best. Though with some remastering (partial increasement of contrast) it could look even better. ;)

What camera is that? The pictures look pretty sharp and the lens pretty good as far as I can comment on that by the small versions.

    Overall some nice pictures.

 I think I've answered that before... to you no less. :p

It's still the Canon Powershot G3 that I've had for five years. Hopefully, I'll be getting myself a new camera soon. :)
  • Magnus%s's Photo
I had something like that in mind, but as you deleted you exif information I wasn't sure anymore.
Also you mentioned something like getting a Nikon DSLR ... That's why I was asking.

Well go on with taking good pictures and get a Nikon. The Sigma 10-20 would be great for your photography. ;)

    Magnus

Hoping to get a new camera soon aswell.

Haha. Well, I'm looking at the Nikkor 18-200mm zoom VR lens when I get the camera, because it's a fantastic all-in-one lens that will do pretty much everything I'll ever want to do. I wouldn't really need any other lens unless/until I went into more specialized work. :)

Also, exif info wasn't deleted. It just wasn't there, because I copied the originals into new Photoshop jpeg's, then applied all the formatting for the watermarks and stuff. :D

Here is one i took today whilst out taking photos for a project. I found this knarly tree with a few holes in it, one where i took the picture and on one which let light in. Here is the result:

    Without flash:

I don't know how well you can see it. I hate my monitor, too much banding and colour correction is rubbish.

With Flash to show you what it was like inside (but blurry):

    Congrats Albert. :)

My D300 will hopefully be delivered within the next one or two hours. :D

Looking forward to your next pictures.

i liked the picture of the chandelier...

i know zero about photography, and don't have a camera with a ridiculous lens, but i thought this picture turned out cool:

Well you know a camera is pretty badass if it can take pictures of itself.

Well you know you're pretty stupid if you can't read.

^ I think in this case, he was just trying to make an intentionally dumb joke. ;)

I took my Nikon to Disneyland after work today to test out its night capabilities. On the screen, most of the photos were quite nice. Vibration Reduction on my 18-200mm Nikkor lens is AMAZING.

I'm going to transfer to my computer now to see how things look. :)

Testing the camera out at night. Was quite pleased. Most of these pics look infinitely better at hi-res, but my internet is slow and disagreeing with uploading large size versions.

Nice shots, Al. I dig them.

    DCA is getting an expansion?
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Yup. Five years. One billion dollars (which is how much the park cost originally, lol). Reworked entrance theme land, new themed land (Carsland), new dark ride, new nighttime show (on par with FANTASMIC!).

d300? lucky bastard. ;P great shots though al.

After playing around with my friend's speedlight yesterday, I've decided that it's a little more important than I first thought... and that I'll be getting one sooner than initially planned. lol

So I think a grip and extra battery will be purchased first, but maybe the speedlight will come one pay period later, rather than in the more distant future. :D
  • Magnus%s's Photo
What do you need the battery grip for?
Maybe once you are going into professional portrait photography or really need the 8 frames per second.
On my list that thing is somewhere at the very end.

A second battery would be good, though, I tested the D300 yesterday at a concert where I took 407 shoots and the battery was still at over 60% after that. I do not think I will ever take more than 1000 pictures without a chance to charge the battery.

Now it is about the time get my workflow settled for these 12-16Mb monster RAW files.

High ISO 1250-2000 looks amazingly good compared to my D50 and the D70, but holding 200mm at a concert is basically impossible. My 055 Pro B Manfrotto tripod did a good job though. If you plan to do more night shots get one. It really is worth the effort of carring it.
3D Tracking of objects worked out perfectly for me yesterday. It is so much fun using this camera ...
