Then why the HELL did you post.....? your not still one of those people who try to get their post count up are you?

I've had nothing but problems with DELL laptops. the one we have here is pretty much sold with DELL knowing it overheats if you try and do anything taxing. and there is nothing much you can do about it save not play games or work in graphics programs... grrrr

That's cool, definate opposite of some other stories of Dell I've heard when it comes to customer service.
  • chapelz%s's Photo
Every friend I know that has had a Dell and had to use customer service said they would never use Dell again. You are lucky you did not get one of their outsourced indian workers, they fun as hell to talk to though.
  • ekimmel%s's Photo
Dell just sent 5000 more jobs to India. I won't be buying any more Dells.

I've got a Dell e310 desktop with 17" LCD. It's all upgraded but I've never had a problem. Just delete the MyWay shit and it's really a nice system. I'm running a 2.8ghz Pentium 4 with 1gig dual channel ram. I don't remember anything else. :mantis:

Yes, that's exactly it. In fact, when I tell girls, "Hey I have the fourth most posts of ANYONE at nedesigns.com, that's an immediate turn on and they start making out with me on the spot. It's also made me tremendously popular and idolized by everyone. When I walk down the street, I hear people say, "Whoa there's the guy with all those New Element posts..." It's kind of a big deal. Try it some time. You'll get more tail. Seriously.

    Also, Dells are shite.

I had a good experience with Dell customer service regarding the Dell DJ I pruchased. I had ordered with the "deal of the week" feature, and it was supposed to come with a case, but didn't. I chatted the same day I recieved the original package, and two days later had my case. Good stuff.

I also have a Dell laptop, for nearly two years, and have had no problems with it, ever. Though it did overheat when playing RCT, I was able to fix that by placing a couple CD cases below the computer in order to raise the fan and provide more air-flow. Works fine now.

I'm happy with the Dell products I've purchased.
Though I don't agree with outsourcing, I'll continue to buy from them.

Both of my helpers were Indian, isn't that very apparent in the name?

Do you have any basis for that. Or are you just being retarded?
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
Yes. All the computers in my school are Dells. All have problems and have had problems since the day they were installed. The fact that our school tech support consists of one guy doesn't help matters, though.

I've not read many good things about Dells previously. I'm gonna get a laptop for college but I wasn't looking at Dell at all.

Bruckner, is there any particular reason you suddenly felt the urge to spring $1500 for a new laptop when you already have three or four computers?

Your techie is probably a agressivly-masturbating-retard.

I've only got one computer and I needed a laptop for college. I recommend Dell for their laptops. They have great tech support. Include the newest technology. They also have good prices.

What were you looking at Jelly?

You can ask me if you have any questions about laptops. I would be happy to look for coupons or some crazy shit too. Anything for a friend! :mantis:

    Interesting choice of insult.

I'm still not going Dell, though. I know you had a nice experience but for real, I've heard at least three cases of bad tech support--you know, dealing with Indians. There's a bunch of Indian kids in my school, I hate them all but one. What an irritating, nerdy race.
  • JBruckner%s's Photo
Haha. I choose not to "talk" with them. Chatting is much easier. What are you looking at though?
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
Oh, nothing. I just knew NOT to get a Dell or a Gateway. Maybe another HP, I know you hate HP but this one's given me no problems. Maybe a Sony, too. I don't know. Whichever comes cheap.
  • JBruckner%s's Photo
Dell is cheapest! Just get it online, don't go into a store. Also, if you go to a Dell Kiosk you can get really good deals. I would wait until the Intel Merom comes out, because those laptops are supposed to have like 25 hours of battery life.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Funny, cuz HP is the one brand that I would absolutely not recommend. Every single person I know who's owned an HP laptop has had problems. And only one person doesn't hate his HP.

Dell's customer support, in my experience, seems to be great if you're talking to a non-Indian, absolutely crappy if you ARE talking to an Indian. I'm not sure why, but that's been my trend.

I still think they're decent computers, but they have that knack of messing up only after your warranty expires. :(
