-------------------------------- BAYS OF TROPICA --------------------------------
Bays Of Tropica is another solo project by me, the park is big. Bigger than 'the masterpiece', and hopefully a hell of a lot more realistic. I want this park to be as packed with little details and rides as possible, but i want to keep a realistic edge all the way through, almost like bringing the park 'back down to earth'. I have a lot of ideas for this park, for each area i have filled 3 sides of A4 paper with a list of cool ideas for rides, attractions and everything lol. It seems like the 'fashion' these days to keep solo parks a total secret, however i find it helps motivate me if i can show other people my work, so i will show quite a lot of pics in this topic, perhaps more than the average Kumba. I want this park to be perfect, so it will take a while to complete, especially since i am in my GCSE year at school so the pace of the park's progress may differ, however, i will finish it eventually. As i mentioned before, i wanted the park to be realistic this time round, and i thought you can't really have a theme park without a car park. The past two weeks, i have made a fully functional car park with a shit load of facilities to help aid the guests with their visit. Taking everything into account here...
I really hope you enjoy the progress of this park, and comments of all views are welcome.

update 1: 12th February
Okay, this is not the 'usual theme park' update showing off beautiful themed architecture yet, im still in scenario editor for a start so, erm, thats my excuse. The screens basically show the user-friendly car park and i have thrown in the second screen showing off one of its many useful facilities. Yeah i know, not the best update you have seen. But just letting you all know i'm not dead, yet.
“The car park is easy to navigate around thanks to clear sign-posting, and easy to follow one way roads. It is very organised; there are four main car parks on the main entrance, each space designated with a unique alphanumeric code. The coach park is very well organised, with separate pickup and drop-off areas. The site also has three small car parks just west of the park, which are for trade, staff car parks, and an exclusive season-pass car park, all of which can be accessed using the ‘staff/trade entrance’. The car park is home to many convenient facilities, there are six bathrooms dotted around the outskirts of the car park, breakfast bars, information stalls, a fishing lake and many picnic areas for those who may have made long trips, and need a rest or their breakfast!”
“This image shows the McDonalds restaurant via the car park, near the main entrance structure. It is complete with a drive-thru, mini-car park, kiddies playground and seating areas. Nestled within a thick woodland, just to the right of the BP petrol station, the McDonalds restaurant is great for early visitors who are in need of a good breakfast, and for people who may like to leave the busy park during lunch hours and eat outside in the designated, peaceful picnic areas outside.”
*Thanks to those who helped me find the scenery required for these two screens, appreciated*

Fucking brilliant so far, X250.
Good to see a realistic park built by someone who knows what they're doing.
I'll be watching this.

ouf, your plans are so big that i'm afraid you can't carry their weight.
however, i wish you the best of luck and if i can help you or contribute to the project in which way ever please let me know. (rctmv won't happen, i'm afraid? (since you said you plan on posting lots of screens))
a very elaborated and enjoyable park presentation so far. as for realism, i am very happy that there are still parkmakers like me who really want to, one day, pull of convincing realistic parkmaking. heh, theatrical
the screens. they're okay in my opinion. the landscaping is a bit overdone to be realisitc, in my opinion. i think you forget yourself when landscaping. of course you can make a lot of shrubs and rocks and trees and not what make look very nice, and to a certain extent fantastic, together, but you're losing the realistic aspect when doing it.
in my opinion, what really makes realism, is recreating things from real life. you can't hardly make up new stuff because you're not werner stengel.
so try to envision your park to build it from that. anything, really. every single shrub. don't let yourself get pulled away cluttering things like no tomorrow, give it boring colours and call it realistic. (not saying you are, just worried you could since you don't have much park experience) -

Change the McDonalds to something more mom-and-popish, because although what you have there is nice its sort of oxymoronic. Roof ventilation is also something that would help this cause. I also think you should use the cars from the game instead of the ones you did because they look too fake, and you could use invisible track and whatnot to make moving cars on the highway.
In the first screen, to be unchronological and all, I love the mushrooms and custom foliage scenery, but I hate when people use those small trees as nature when those are really only meant to be ornamental/man-made, and I think you should take them out. -

I actually think it are corner pieces from the decorative things which you can see here.are those actual picnic tables?
screens look nice, i can't wait to see inside the actual park.
Looks great X! Very realistic so far
EDIT: You forgot something:

Damn...those are some sexy screens you got there.
Those mushrooms are a great addition. Adds a lot of detail.
Looking forward to more! -

Wow, X. A new side of you I never thought I would see!
You are off to a nice start. On the McDonalds building, I think it could benefit from some red sloped deco or steep red roofing because I don't think I've ever seen a McDonalds without either of those features. Like Phatage, I agree that those cars look out of place and ugly. I think the tables would be better with a constant color, the alternating thing kind of bothers me. I also agree with posix to some extent; the foliage seems a bit overdone.
Otherwise, I love what I see. It seems the ad district is happening again, which is great to see. Keep up the furious pace. (I bet you started the project this morning. ) -

Yep looks really nice. Great use of those 1/8 building blocks, looking forward to more.
What is the map size btw? -

I really like it so far, and i love that mushroom object. I think the dense foliage is amazing, but i hate the ornamental trees.
I love the modern looking McDonalds and the walkway over the drive-through is an amazing touch. Great picnic tables aswell if i can remember it was egghead that did them first.
Im not too sure about the cars, they snap the realism away from the screen as soon as you see it. The moving cars on the invisable track would be an amazing idea.
Great start man, i cannot wait to see more. -

i like the new realitstic X250. however as with Phatage, some ventilation is needed on the roof, cahnge the cars to the in games and also......why is the path on the right of the McD's step down? looks good but not very realistic IMO. -
Panic Offline
Although perhaps some are right and there could be a better venue to put in that place than McDonalds, it's too beautifully pulled off already to pass up. I'd keep it as is. The only thing I'd get rid of is the cars. Great stuff in general. -
Kumba Offline
The stuff is great, but some of the custom scenery sucks.
Now cut the crap and get to the fuckin rides and don't forget im doing one in the you know what area -

ACEfanatic02 - thanks!
tracid - thanks again, nah not actual picnic tables. Some 1/8th style deco made to look like it though. Props to egg_head there, i thought it was a fantastic idea!
posix - thanks for your luck, i will try my best to carry the weight of the task, i know it wont be easy, i'll manage though. I am planning a few guest spots in this one, because the map is huge, really huge!
phatage - roof ventilation, good idea, and the shrubs- i see what you mean. I'll do something about them. The car idea is good, something i considered when making the car park. However i am not the greatest of hackers, and even with an in-depth userguide could not get the hang of it. I'll see what i can do though.
Michael - Thanks mate, good spot too! I'll have to sort that out.
Breakaway - thanks!
Postit - yup, i never thought i would do realistic either... to be honest though, 'the masterpiece' started off as a realistic park aswell, that didn't last long.
Splash-0 - thanks, thank egg for the 'use' of them 1/8th blocks, his idea!
JK - Thanks man, again, i'll see about the cars. I am sure i'll figure it out eventually.
RCTFAN- good points again, i'll get that ventilation sorted in no time! cheers.
Panic - Thanks.
Kumba - pfft... like i would let you stain my park...

Great screens, but Bays of Tropica has to be one of the worst park names I've ever heard. -

Rides!
I want them, too
Otherwise than the ugly custom Mc Donalds sign and horrible custom cars, there really isn't much shown in these screens (can't you make them with some creative use of 1/8-1/16 blocks?).. I like the idea of the realism you're going to put in the park..
Keep it up, cos the architecture looks promising
