General Chat / DDR

So I saw in Corky's video that Blitz and... someone else (Ed??) plays DDR.
That was at the arcade, but I wondered if others have it for the PS2 or Xbox.

I have DDR Ultramix 3 for the Xbox, and I love it.
First got involved when I went to a friends house that had it, though I've always enjoyed watching people play and wanted to myself. Just this past year, I finally had the opportunity to try, and I think I've become pretty good.
I have A's on most all the songs on Standard difficulty, and I'm working on getting the Heavy setting down as well.

So if anyone has this, what are your favorite songs?
From DDRU3, I Am Gothic, Nari Narian, Raise Your Hands, Candy and others are my favorites.
I've also played DDRU1, and I loved Tsugaru, Candy, La Senorita Virtual and others.

I might try putting up some videos of myself...
We'll see how well I can do on camera. :D

I love Tsugari (Apple Mix), JaneJana, Freckles, Kick the Can, ANYTHING by Captain Jack or DJ Taka, and, of course, A.

I, however, refuse to do any of the Maxes. Blech. I don't need to prove to anyone that I have grapefruit testies.

We mustn't forget Exotic Ethnic, Ecstacy, Ska A Go Go, Crash, Gamelan de Couple (dancing cactus!!), Abyss, and my personal favorite, the Legend of MAX

    DDR is over.
Guitar Hero is where it's at.

DDR is still fun for me, so I'll continue to play it even if the fad has passed.
No video from me, as my camera uses Quicktime format, and I don't have a video editing program that can handle it... Besides Adobe ImageReady.

Perhaps there's still a small possibility.

There's a new version (after a three year absense) coming out in May, I believe.

    DDR Supernova.

Anyway, I've never really liked home versions. Arcade is where it's at. And I use Stepmania for "home playing."

I don't play DDR as much as I used to anymore, but I still do enjoy a lot of Extreme's songs.

Incidentally, however, my favorite DDR song overall IS a home version song: Paranoia Respect.

You know, I'd really like to start playing DDR, as I've enjoyed it while borrowing other people's consoles and such, but I don't have any consoles newer than an N64. How would I do it with a budget on my computer (besides jump up and down on my fragile laptop's keys)? Or should I just go and buy an XBox 360 or something?

Of course, I probably won't be able to start playing for like another four months because of my bastard ingrown toenail.

    cork: that is TIGHT, dude.

anyway... love me some spin the disc freestyle. It's my song =u=

My best song is xenon heavy. AAA that shit (just not often, haha).

    Ow! You too?

I got one that got infected last last December (2004), so I now have to take good care of my toes. It keeps coming back, so every so often I need to give myself a partial wedge removal. Wich HURTS.

Don't get ingrown toenails if you can help it.

You do the partial wedge removal on yourself? Ow, not fun. I tried that once (it was really bloody), but I wasn't terribly successful, as it was just as bad a few weeks later. I've eventually always had to go into the doctors to have it taken care of.

I've had it four times now on the same toe. The first two times were on the right side, and the second two times have been on the left. Almost every time I've held out until it had gotten pretty bad. Hopefully this time will be the last. The first three times my doctor sucked, and apparantly he's since been fired. The new guy is quite a bit better and in March I'm going to go in for some procedure so that the current bad side doesn't grow back. Only problem is, I went in for the wedge removal 20 days ago, and the infection still hasn't cleared up, so I went in today and they did x-rays to see if there was anything still in there. Apparantly there isn't, and they think the bacteria is just immune to the antibiotic, so I'm now on something new. However, if it doesn't start to clear up by next week, he has me scheduled to have a wedge of tissue removed. That shall suck, a lot. So hopefully it clears up and I only need one more minor surgery before it's over. Which will also hurt, because it'll involve needles in the joint, but I'm starting to get used to it.

Anyways, I'll just echo what Cork said: avoid ingrown toenails.

i DDR. i own all three ultramixes, and do consistently well on heavy...
i cannot, however, do consistently well on arcade machines. i think i don't weigh enough, or just stop step heavily enough. or the local machines have all lost sensitivity.
    but, yeah.
some friends of mine are having a DDr party saturday because saturday is sadie hawkins, but my girlfriend and I, along with about half the school, don't feel like going. to date, the total ticket sales equal about 30.
  • hobbes%s's Photo
That's bout hohw many people came to this past homecoming at my school.
I think even the students are getting sick of all this "grinding" carp. Mainstream hip hop (50 Cent, Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce) is just plain annoying, and isn't worth the time or money.

My suggestion for the past three years of high school has been to return to ball room dancing. A few of my friends (girls) support this. I've yet to have any success with the majority of my school's population, however.

But yeah, school dances suck, and not because I wouldn't have a date.

Well, I started doing it after the second time I had to visit the doctor. The second doc was extremely helpful and explained the process pretty well. Plus I got the right type of clipper and tools.

But it does frickin hurt. You're supposed to keep the lining on the side of your toe clean by scraping out the dead skin cells with something that looks like a curved metal toothpick, or a mini scythe. So yeah, that's what I try to do. Definitely a pain. I need to trim it every few months or so.

And it does get a little bloody. First time I did it, even my parents were like "ouch."

    So yeah, don't get hangnails.
