Other.
Corky, I agree that the poll is flawed, but I don't think yours is a much better alternative, because it's too simplified. Listing every sexuality would be impossible (IMO), but you don't even have an "other" option, implying that a person can always fit comfortably into one of those three categories and if they don't, they just haven't made up their mind yet.
Also, personally I see a difference between straight and heterosexual: straight is a "lifestyle", while heterosexual is only the sexual preference. Similarily, a person might be homosexual but not identify as gay.
My "not sure" was meant to be an "other"
But whatever. Sexuality isn't a huge deal to me. The only thing that irks me is when people are bigots and are like "gays are going to hell!!!"
But that falls under general prejudice. -

You missed a couple out.Heterosexual
Bisexual
Homosexual
Not sure
You still have:
Asexual (no sex drive - could be classed a sexual disorder)
Autosexual (again, some people consider this a sexual disorder rather than a sexual preference)
Pansexual (similar to bisexual, but whereas bi implies you would date people of stricly only one of the two genders, pansexuals would date people who were sexually ambiguous (transgendered people of whatever variety) too. This one is definitely a real sexuality)
For whoever suggested trans... that's not a sexuality.
For whoever suggested trisexual.. that's not a sexuality either. It's either used by people trying to be funny, or a misused term for pansexual.
Anyways. I'm bi, leaning towards gay. A 5 on the Kinsey scale if you will -

Anyway's a hetrosexual is the proper name for a straight person.
I on the otherhand I am Metrosexual. I just can't stand people who can't take care of themselves... or get walk around the mall like they just got out of bed. I think it's just gross. I get all dressed up, and go get facil's and manicures. It's just how I am.

on "the kinsey scale" i'd rate myself at about a 2, which is someone who is nearly, but not quite entirely, bisexual, leaning towards heterosexual. i've gone from a 0 to a 3 in my life, and had recently been a 1, but am, at the moment, definitely a 2.
anyways.
i voted "straight", as my sexuality is predominantly heterosexual, and my personality is predominantly masculine (say, 70% each). -

well, kinsey used it to rate individuals he interveiwed based upon their sexual history, although it's designed, as far as i can tell, to include everything: thoughts, actions, whatever. -

I think it covers thoughts as well.. Many people would class themselves as not altogether straight/gay, but might never have slept with the sex in question. That doesn't stop them being attracted to them any less.well, kinsey used it to rate individuals he interveiwed based upon their sexual history, although it's designed, as far as i can tell, to include everything: thoughts, actions, whatever.
I mean, a straight guy isn't not straight if he's a virgn, is he? Just the same as a gay guy can still be gay, despite having not slept with men.. There's some degree of crossover between them.
I'm not sure how it was originally used, but nowadays it's used to express what people identify themselves as, experienced or not. -

So, say I look at a guy whose features I admire. Is that within the realm of homosexual thoughts or is that just admiration? -

I think everyone has certain thoughts, but some turn their back on them immediately (yuck!) some give it slightly more thought but come to the conclusion they are straight (me) some give it more thought and still don't know.. some give it thought and decide they are bisexual, and so on, i dont know how much actions have to do with it, but deciding being gay and sleeping with men, there's a difference there too. Anyways, i'm sure thoughts count otherwise the majority would be at the same end of the scale, right? (or at different ends..) Thoughts would actually make the scale 'useful' as everyone would be at a different part =P. -

I wouldn't say that I'm straight, though...
But I'm a male with a girlfriend, so I got to be hetero, don't I?^^ -
