Don't really like the colors, and the blue and white building looks out of place. I do like the stairwell into the building though, it's a nice little detail.Edited by OLE, 22 January 2006 - 04:21 PM.

I like it, but I really never liked those thatched roofs... Anyway this looks a lot like your previous Black Mamba stuff. It's good, but not new. -

I think the stairwell going into the building is simple yet amazing, and i think you have a great mixture of such a contast of buildings. Also i love the foliage and 1x4 land work you've done. -

Wow that is so awesome! That is the best screen that has been shown in the advertising district for a long, long time. Such detail, its fantastic, is this anything to do with your 'black mamba' design btw? It looks pretty similar.

Holy fuck.
Finish this. Please.
Foliage: Incredible. Though, I worry about the sprite limit if you're hacking four or five trees on a single tile.
Architecture: I really like it. The little details, balconies, etc. give it an urban look. I also actually like the blue and white building on the right. Adds a great contrast to the red and tan.
I could go on, but...
Damn.

benches around those tables (using invisible path) and make the path connect with the stairs that lead to the doors of the buildings in the top and top-left of the screen -

I just checked out black mamba as i was'nt around then. Thats some great work you got there and yet this is simuleur but i'd love to see that theme done again but maybe even better'd. Please finish this i also think your one of the only people to use those thatched roof's well. Great work. -

Ole: Thanks but i like the contrast. I'd hate it all to be tan.
Ty: I see what you mean. I suppose it's cus i have never done this type of themeing before BM and now i keep wanting to do it. However this is a whole park with differnt themes and this is just one of them.
J K (1): Thanks a lot, much appreciated.
X250: thanks and no not really, but it is whilst on the other hand it isn't.
Phatage:Erm im gunna have to change the building height then cus it won't align, but ive doen the paths. I was originally going for a peep freidnly park (as i always do) but i think ill have more fun creating a non-peep park.
ACE: Please do go on lol. No need to swear though it's only a game. As for the sprite limit, this is only an area of the aprk so the whole map isn't going to be like this.
J K (2): Lol i was thinking about it and i'm pretty sure some of you recognise the white building from it that i have changed slightly. As for the thatch rooves.....yeh i haven't seen anyone use them at all, i love 'em!
Right cheers guys for commenting, always a help.
Now for some info on the park. Basically as i said its 150 x 150 possibly with hotel/ waterpark or just one. There is no name as of yet cus i'm just going with the flow and i won't be posting anymore screens until ive met my stage goals.
Peace out RCTFAN.
P.S the Swat is in it. -

I wouldnt worry about the sprite limit, Chris hacked 4 or 5 bushes into each square in his Jurassic park style area, and that too was a full blown (and very well detaied) park.
Im sort of mixed about this screen. I cant make my mind up if I think its good or great. One minute I think its wonderful but the next I am thinking 'well the architecture is pretty small and basic', but then I try to defend that by saying it fits the theme, but then I scrap that thought because it only just fits the theme.
Im not being negative by any means as whats there is good, it just looks a bit rough round the edges thats all. I wouldnt say its spotlight quality but deffinetly runner up. -

This is terrific for the most part. I'll point out some things I don't like, but you also have some really great details worth making note of.
Nifty little details:
1. that little stairway hidden under the arch on the left. That's ingenious...
2. those two little grey spires tucked amoungst the architecture....yum!
3. the pier (although slightly cliche now, imo) and surrounding foliage
Things I don't like:
1. the thatch roofs are iffy here imo. They don't seem to contrast enough with the facades which kinda hurts the area as whole.
2. I too think the white building is slightly out of place. And those vines along its flat facade are quite ugly.
3. I'm not overly fond of the colors you've shown. Although the foliage helps, I think the brown is too dominate.
Its great to see stuff like this being built. Keep it up, please. -

Looks really good, maybe take one square away of the footpath in the middle of the screen and add some bushes or some flowers. For the rest, well done! -

I think it looks good, but i also know you wont finish it if you stick with this kind of detail. How big is the map? -

Oh man, ever since you released the unfinished Black Mamba, I've been dieing to see more work from you. It looks awsome. -

Thanks for replies guys
Adonis:Thanks i think :' /> i think i know what you mean, that you can roughly guess the theme but it's not defined enough to make it very obvious. maybe.
Turtle: Thank you
JKay: Lol love the nifty quotes (chimenys ) as for the negatives
1) true, but i don't want to use more spanish rooves then i have to becuase it will just swamp the area. I'll see what i can do.
2) see below. As for the vines IMO i like them and i neede something to give the overgrown feel without stacking bushes (which i think looks worse). Besides there arnt any other decent vines lol.
3)See blelow.
Splash-O: i was thinking that becuase i want an overrun/grown feel. However it gets to a certain point when it is just too crowded and all my attempts (rock formation, flowers, well) just seem to tip toe over that line. I am still trying though.
Sff56:please don't die.
Newk: Thanks but other paths don't go as well IMO.

Wow that is pretty god damn awesome. The mud on the roof = fantastic. On close inspection of the front face of the buildings I'd say they look very life like, the things I like a so subtle, the pots on the left of the door way in the mud covered building, the small set of steps leading to the porchway on the middle building, it all adds up to a wonderful set of details. That thatch roof, and the yellowy colour of the building is awful though, I would use the red slate roof used in the bottom of the screen, id alo add a layer (1/4) between the roof and the wall to distinguish the two and add more deffinition to the building.
Overall top notch but once again, still a tiny bit rough round the edges. -

I can't see very many things there that I would change.
Details are awesome for the most part, just make sure it doesn't become too busy... -
JKay Offline
Yeah, like turtle said, I think you've pretty much got this area nailed without overdoing it. Glad to see my advice was helpful!
Can't wait for the next update!
