    I'm sorry, I just don't like it.

It doesn't look like the real thing and it's all inaccurate.

So you won't show show pictures here, Geewzz? What's about the avertising of your park on rct2.com and some other sites?

Actually, it just makes him not a computer nerd. Abbreviating thing like, 'lol' and 'j/k', and 'pwnd'. Sadly I think I have fallen under this category. :'(

Anywho, I really like this. I like comparing this to Axn2Pimp's Six Flag's park. Kinda like the Magic Mountain/Cedar Point debate. Makes it more fun to look at. :huey:

Bah. I think I'm the only person here who's not crazy about this.

It's very realistic, admirably so, but also like one of the coldest things I've seen in the game. Save for the awesome stadium rec, most of it looks overly gray and forbidding to me. Although I'm no expert on the genre, I think when doing a rec or a realistic park, in addition to accuracy, you should take into account "Wow, I would want to visit this park" factor, because in my opinion this has none of the latter right now. You know what I think could really help is if you had someone make you a lighter-colored gray path, because I think all that medium-dark gray is depressing-looking and really oppressive to the atmosphere. Think about also lightening up the non-facade parts of the buildings, if realism allows.

    Nice.

Quite nice... Not a whole lot going on, which really appeals to me right now! The one tree kinda stands out (in a bad way), can you guess which one??
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
    The dead one? o_O
  • Evil WME%s's Photo
yes, you should take that one out. Maybe try and make the car ride a little more flowing with the rocks around it? i don't know how it looks in real life..
  • JDP%s's Photo
^ yeah other than that, its a nice screen.

Ewww... The tree combination there is horrible. Deffinitly need to fix that up. All the other screens were very Cedar Pointish, not this one though.

Also, not sure where all the dirt came from. But I am sure the last time I was at Cedar Point (Sunday) The Cadillac Car had no dirt or sand what so ever near them. It is very clean cut with some trees.

Overall, just try to make it nicer and not so messy. Trees dont flow together, and the fround is just to nasty.. looks more like a construction zone.. lol

look at your supports and then look at the real ones... I think if you haven't done much hacking in terms of the rides (meaning that you wouldn't have to redo the hacking) you should take it back to the SE and put in as many of Toon's supports as you can, it will help you make them more accurate.
  • geewhzz%s's Photo
    I know, and Phatage taking into account of what you said towards the beginning of my thread;

The difference between the last couple of screens and the first couple is that you took the accuracy that you already had and better transposed it to rct. I think you should go over the work you've done in the first couple of screens because these last two are looking spectacular.

The first parts of my work wern't so good, there were a lot of inaccuracies in the buildings and the truth is, I've improved so much on building skill as I've progressed through this park. While working on this park I've learned so much about the game and what my potential is while building. I don't even think I knew what zero clearancing was when I started this park. I finally feel I'm at the point where my building skill throughout the park will stay consistant and I've already started on redoing the park completly. I've started out with a blank slate, new objects, and will be doing all of the B&M's with Toons supports.

I also plan on using a ton of minor detail with Deco theming. Expect a new thread with new pictures in the next few weeks from now, and prepare to be amazed.

Has there been any recent progress to this park? It looks like a good Cedar Point recreation to me.
  • Richie%s's Photo
Did u sign up to ask that 1 question? I think you should find toons ioa thread and bump that, he might have built somthing.
  • thirstydeer%s's Photo
I signed up to look around, and hopefully in a matter of days I'll be beginning posts on my park project I've begun.

    ^Canadian eh?

Oh, um. I'm curious whzzy, are you continueing with this because I've longed for a proper Cedar Point rec for quite a while. If you fail me I might have to do one, someday in the distant future if I don't quite the game before then...

    eek.
