For the past 10 days or so I have been working on a Cedar Point recreation.
The park will include 2 maps, and everything up to the removal of WWL and Skyhawk construction.
I'm shooting to finish by opening day May 6th, 2006. I will be posting teaser screens to keep you folks interested in the progress.
At this point I'd say I'm about 15% complete.
The park will contain custom music files for Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force including the famous Top Thrill Dragster spiel and custom Republica music and other TTD songs.
I will also be making my own custom supports for Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster.
Enough with the mumbo jumbo, now to the first teaser:

If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to leave them. Constructive criticism will help a great deal with this recreation to make it the best possible.
I know many people have tried to recreate this park, some quitting it. I plan to do it all, I don't like to dissapoint people and will do my best to finish this for your enjoyment.Edited by geewhzz, 09 May 2006 - 01:37 AM.

Is there not a Cedar Park logo you could put as a custom scenery file and then use in the park? Cos the green and blue thing looks a bit lame. Unless its there in real life. But otherwise, this looks damn accurate, I will reserver judgement untill the tricky-to-recreate coasters are shown though. -

I downloaded a CP logo object pack, but they are done terrible. Most likely I will get around to doing my own to custom fit the places I want.
Been slaving away at Raptor all night, and it's *perfect* and yea, it IS a tricky one. But everything is spot on, loop going right way, inline twist right way, cobra roll is spot on, the track is perfect, crosses over on the right side of the loop, and the helix is dead on, and the queue/freeway/exit paths are dead on aswell. Screenies soon!
Oh, and I think you guys will love how I have done Millennium ForceEdited by geewhzz, 11 January 2006 - 07:03 AM.

The area to the picnic spot should be turned straight. And there is grass and trees and all to the right of it. Not just path and then the building. Imma be able to point out evey little thing there is.
I live about an hour away and I go there a lot over the summer. Where do you live? Have you every been there? -

I live about 3 hours away via car, more by bus (which is how we've gone the last couple years w/ the church).
Anyway I've been thinking long and hard about doing a (relitivily) perfect Cedar Point rec for a while, with each building and such exicuted to dazzling detail.
This isn't quite what I'd have my standard set at but it's quite good none the less. I'd suggest taking RMM's advice on the details though, since he seems to be an expert.
The real test will be to see if you can get the coasters right.

Thanks for your constructive criticism guys since I live in Missouri and have only been a total of about 20 times. So whenever I do go I focus more on getting as many coaster rides in than checking out every inch of the park.
I'm taking your advice and going to fixup the picnic pavilion area.
The front gate is kind of a bland area of the park, so I'm not sure how much detail you think should be there ride6.
Anyways, onto the next little teaser:
Hofbrau and the top of the pavilion area.
Let me know what you think! -

I guess since the above screen isn't good enough for anyone to comment on
I'll leave you with a shot of the Midway Market/Private Picnic Pavilion Area, & Entrance/Raptor Restrooms:

I"ve been there a few times, and by the logs of it this is a very good recreation. Better than any that have been done in the past just because you've got buildings that resemble the real ones. So well done.
That said, you'll get more comments if you show a screen of a coaster. -
Kumba Offline
I have only been there once, but that is one awsome park, I had blisters on my feet for days after...
I tried doing a re-creation of Kumba recently and it can drive you insane, coz the game really can't match stuff up perfectly and in some spots it just can't even be close. Due to reasons like that I stick purely to "made-up" themes.
But good luck. It's great to see someone trying this.
BTW ever see the LL one by Greg Rease? Coz thats where the bar is set. -

Just bought the original RCT and LL CD off of Amazon for about 10 bucks with shipping! Not a bad deal if you ask me. Does anyone have the CP recreation from RCT1 they could send me so I can take another look? It would be much appreciated
To hold you guys over while I finish up the details on Raptor, here is a nice shot of the Ice Cream Parlor & Donut Time.

Looking very pleasant and realistic. Can't wait to see Raptor. Keep it up.

That looks really cool so far, dunno how realistic as I've never been myself, but it looks nice. Especially the latest screen. Although that hinged sign looks kinda odd, but I'm sure it's accurate. I just hope you finish this, as COUNTLESS CP attempts have been started but never were finished.
And if you haven't gotten that CP recreation yet, I have a couple on a disk I can send ya.
