I cant wait to see it. It looks way better than all the other shitty horror movies that came out this year (besides High Tension and Devils Rejects). -

Well like all genres some do, some don't. I like them no matter what. I'm always a fan of anything extreme or controversial, so I love to see how far directors will push things on screen. There is some strange desire within me to watch these sick things, and obviously there are in other people, or else these types of films wouldn't be so popular, and there wouldn't be such a move towards increasing extremism in horror. I understand why people find them stupid or disgusting, but I love seeing how extreme directors will go to either a) get their message across, get publicity or c) just to do it..Wtf? Okay, then.
I thought gory slasher flicks really didn't send any messages. I mean, how could you take a serious message from a completely disgusting movie? I personally wouldn't want to take any advice (as in messages etc.) from a crazy homicidal director or screenwriter.
Devil's Rejects was absolutely dire IMO. Seems like opinion is very split on it.. Some people love it, and others think it was terrible.. I thought it was really bad, apart from one scene I quite enjoyed (think it was in a bedroom, with mother and child.. and they got the kid to torture the mom or something?). As a whole though, terrible.. Would never see another Rob Zombie movie. This one really was just all abou the hype. I didn't think it was even very gory.I cant wait to see it. It looks way better than all the other shitty horror movies that came out this year (besides High Tension and Devils Rejects).
On the other hand, Haute Tension was amazing I thought.. I love that first scene with the severed head lol.. Then the scenes in the bedroom were fantastic as well.. lives up to the name And finally, that dénouement.. great film
I thought Cabin Fever was utter shit, but there have Hostel seems to have impressed a lot of people so far, so I'll probably check it out at some time or another. The trailers are reminiscent of some parts of Saw, and Audition.. -

i loved cabin fever. it was one of my favorite movies of 2003. this movie looks interesting too i just hope it's not another saw rip-off.
He is joking. The only reason QT put his name on the movie was because he is friends with Eli Roth, and he wanted to hype it. QT is, and has always, been on the the good movie bandwagon. -

Just got back from it. As far as brutal goes, yes, the torture scenes are pretty overwhelming... that is all 5 minutes of it. That was all. This was a horror movie for 5 minutes. The plot wasn't very deep, and the moral kind of contradicted (with Josh's situation). I mean, it was interesting to see, but, I don't know. I think the best way to put it is, they advertised it with much more intensity than there actually was. Strangely enough, this movie was very comedic, and before anyone makes any witicisms, not the torture scenes, those were sick, but when the guys were messing around Europe.
On the other hand, the girls were smoking....
and naked. So many (hot) naked girls.Edited by BchillerR, 07 January 2006 - 11:27 PM.

I saw it too, and I agree with you Bchiller..
The plot was very weak, and I had already seen all of the torture scenes in the advertising clips (exept for that last one in the bathroom )..
As you said Bchiller, they advertised too much of it and it was only a horror movie for those 5 short scenes..
Funny thing btw, I had been on the place were the movie was shot (Cesky Krumlov) so I reckonised some of the village..
Oh, and the Amsterdam shit was waaayy too exagerated/not even funny..
