Just saw "The World's Fastest Indian," with Anthony Hopkins, which is about an old New Zealander who wants to set a landspeed record in his 1920 Indian Motocycle. Pretty good for a feel good movie. The only thing I didn't care for, and I'm not sure if it was the filmmaker's fault or just the theater's, was that it had several spots where it seemed to "skip," like it was poorly cut or something. I dunno. But anyways, it was pretty enjoyable. We mostly saw it because my dad has an old Indian Scout (1939, I think). And it's painted up in the original 1939 NY World's Fair paint scheme, which is a funny coincidence because after the film we ate at a 1939 World's Fair themed diner.

I also saw "Spirited Away" again last night. I think I finally got the general meaning, or point, of the story.

I saw that in my 10th grade English class. Pretty bizzare movie.

    "saraband" by ingmar bergman.

it's exactly what you'd expect from ingmar bergman post 1970: lots of dull colors, autumn weather, depressed people, and autobiography. the only thing that changes are the characters, but, maybe that's a good thing.

actually, the characters don't change much in this movie, as this movie is a sequel, but, they do change enough.

    whatever.

it's great if you love ingmar bergman, and completely worthless otherwise, which can't be said for all bergman (especially not his pre-1970 work, which were all very different from each other, and very different from anything else, except for the obvious "bermanesque" touches.)

    i love ingmar bergman.

Puni Puni Poemi. It was a parody of different anime's, particularly Sailor Moon. It was rated NC-17. Pretty funny for the most part.

Before that, I saw some of Spirited Away again for about the fifth time.

I Watched Howl's Moving Castle about a week ago. Probably my third favorite Ghibli film.

I also saw Time Bandits fairly recently. Cheesy and such, but I enjoyed it. The ending was hilarious.

    Sideways.
As a supposed comedy it fails to rival the cinematic hoot that is Requiem for a Dream.
As a drama it bores my dick to sleep.
As a romance, it just... Well I've had more romantic encounters with underaged Chinese hookers.
