I watched Salt the other night. Not a bad movie. Very high paced though... it feels longer than it is because it never slows down. -

Inception. I was amazed. (Warning: slight spoilers) Some of the visual effects were just unbelievable, especially those who appeared to be made completely without CGI (like the fighting scene where gravity kept changing... ) And the ending was great, IMO. The whole theater sat and hold their breath to see if it was real or not and when the screen went black at the crucial moment everyone let out some kind of "aaooouuuwhh", and then a few laughs, feeling both a slight dissapointment but also completely blown away by the cleverness of it all. The only thing I wasn't satisfied with was that they didn't seem to take full advantage of the plot. My dreams are usually much wierder than those seen in the film, and so I suppose are others. They should have went more crazy and incorporated more bizarre things, when there was opportunity for it. Other than that it was more or less flawless. Acting was superb, Ellen Page is really hot, the plot was nice, so was the writing and the directing, and the visuals aswell. 9/10. -

Yeah I finally saw Toy Story 3 today. Another amazing Pixar production that was a worthy sequel. 9/10 -

Saw The Expendables on Friday night. Greatest movie theater experience of my life; the entire sold out theater was going crazy. As for the movie itself, I loved every carnage-filled minute of it. To me, this is the ideal summer flick. Lots of guns, gore, and explosions. Not to mention all the old action heroes! 9.5/10. -

Wall-E.
Totally not what I was expecting, but loved it anyway. Another solid movie from Pixar, although the ulterior motives were a bit over the top for a children's film.
Transformers 2.
If I had the budget of Transformers 2, I could buy everyone I've ever met and seen a shiny object that would be far more entertaining for far longer than the run time of that abortion of a movie. "Megan Fox." is not an acceptable rebuttal.
Grandmom's Boy/Stepbrothers.
Saw these two to finally catch up with all of my friends references, so they obviously suffered by not living up to the hype. Both were pretty funny.
Hot Tub Time Machine.
Meh. Forgettable. Fuck you, John Cusack. Rob Corddry carries this one...
Kick-Ass.
Pretty entertaining, pretty over the top. Apparently Hollywood has finally figured out the Nick Cage is only good when playing quirky rolls (Matchstick Men, Adaptation). Favourite character is definitely Hit Girl. Not an instant favourite, but I'd watch it again. -

^ I have met people whose favorite movie is Transformers (both the first and the second one). Blows my mind. -

A night at the Opera-amazingly funny, even for soemthing 80 years old, and easily my favorite Marz brothers (duck soup was awful IMO)
Bringing Up Baby-Though alittle odd, i guess that is the idea. Katherine Hepburn at her finest, and some wonderful commedy. Hilarious characters throughout
Blonde Venus-watched this for a film class. Just couldn't get into it because the pacing was too slow to start, and too fast in the middle, and then got slow again jsut when we would hope it ended. But the pacing issue is probably the fact that old movies were much slower then we handle them today.
Alien vs. Predator-i can't help myself. ya it's awful and disgusting, but it's also awesome and amazing, and as an alien fanatic, i can't help but get a hit of this shit every once in awhile...

Inception - Awesome, go see it.
Toy Story 3 - Actually made me laugh more then most adult comedies do...see it.
Karate Kid - An acceptable remake but not as good as the original, I think the idea of karate in China is a bit more powerful. But it was really hard to take seriously at times, like when these 8 year olds beat the shit out of each-other...Don't go expecting a spin-off on the storyline though, it's almost exactly the same plot.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World - I had a great time seeing this, it was funny enough to keep me interested, and I like Michael Cera. Don't go for a common action movie, go for something funny, and really fucking different... -

there is nothing wrong with liking transformers, infact, the first one was wonderful. The second however, was a poor movie consisting of bad acting, obscure plots, and about 65% unnecessary explosions...

Yeah, I liked two as well , but that's me, I don't tend to analyse movies when I watch them more whether I enjoyed them or not -

oh, don't get me wrong, i liked two as well, but as someone who watches movies constantly, im able to both like it and accept it isn't very good. same goes for alien vs. predator on the same note..

I watch so many movies that I stopped watching action sequences long ago. It really does nothing for me, and usually you can tell exactly what happened in the fight by how long into the movie it is. I.E., the hero usually loses a fight somewhere in middle of the movie (beginning if it's a sequel) and at the end of the movie, the hero will start to lose and then magically find some superpower or unknown strength and come back. This is when I make my bathroom break or go make a sandwich.
That's all good and fine for most movies. But when you have a 45min action sequence... Fuck it. I'm over it. Transformers 2 was 2.5 hours, and only had enough plot to fill maybe one of them.
