    Kungfu Panda

I didn't think I'd like it much, but I actually did... made me laugh pretty hard!

    Twilight.

just saw it with my girlfriend. as far as staying true to the book, it did a very good job. you could tell they cut things out for time, but it was still very good. the cooing over Edward didn't help it, though. the music was great and it really added to the feeling. i was surprised to hear 15 Step at the end. overall, i'd see it again.

    7.5/10.

It was the best part of the whole movie, actually.

But seriously, I thought Robert Pattinson (or however you spell it) was excellent (and I don't care what anyone else says). On his way to being a great method actor.

^i heard that he got mail from teenagers asking him to bite them. what a shame. but you're right, his acting was great.

Saw Transporter 3 on Friday, was alright, good bits of action here and there.
Kungfu Panda yesterday, better than what I thought, but still wasn't that great.

    Madagascar 2

I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this one. It was just another crappy sequel that was made just for the sake of making a sequel. It will probably go down as one of the worst sequels ever made, followed by Shrek 3. Personally, I think that if they would've left out everything but the penguins, it would have been a pretty good movie.

I'd give the movie itself a 6/10. But then it gets one bonus point for having Phil Lamarr in it, which brings the score up to 7/10.

The Day the Earth Stood Still in IMAX

Keanu Reeves is a genius. But no really, the movie wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I wish I didn't spend $12 on it though. Actually, all I really wanted to do was see something in IMAX.

    5/10

    Sunday Night:

Transporter 3 - 5/10 - What a total letdown. I thought, "Oh, it's another Transporter. Great." Of course, I must have been fucking stupid not to remember that anything with a "3" in it is bound to suck, almost always. What a waste of money.

Then on Monday I finally saw Quantum of Solace

9.3/10 - Better than Royale? Maybe not quite, but Daniel Craig is as awesome as ever. If the movie wasn't so short (below 2 hrs is unacceptable for any movie, let alone a Bond imo) it would be great. Oh, well. At least it sets up a third part of what will now be a trilogy, hopefully. Mr. White is cool.

Next up: I think THE SPIRIT looks awesome, I think I might go see it on its opening, Christmas Day, depending on what time all the family stuff ends. That one about the bank being corrupt looks pretty good. The Watchmen looks good (what is it with good superhero movies these days?). And some others I forget right now....

finally saw the new Batman movie.

all i can say is that Heath Ledger really lived up to the hype about himself. that was quite possibly the best acting i've ever seen.

I saw it with my wife, and I have no idea how true to the book it was, I'll most likely never read them. Robert P. did a great job, better than in Harry Potter.... and the music is probably the best part of the show.. (well, the brunette vampire chick might be... grrrrr)

I didn't see it in IMAX, but I also enjoyed it. For the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed Reeves' performance; I think because the character he portrayed was meant to be as drone and boring as he is.

So I'm trying to convince my friends to see Zombieland instead of The Invention of Lying. Any evidence to support this?
  • Todd Lee%s's Photo
Just finished watching all 3 Back to the Futures. (Took us 3 nights)
  • Steve%s's Photo
Zombieland, easily. I saw it the day it came out then Invention of Lying right after on Sunday.

Zombieland = Extremely entertaining. Laughed out loud constantly. Harrelson was born for that role. Amazing cameo appearance too.

Invention of Lying = Mildly entertaining. Never really laughed throughout. Great story concept, though I thought, very clever.

    Plus, it had roller coasters.

Both Zombieland and The Invention of Lying both look good, but I can't find anyone who go with me to see either of them.

The last movie I saw in theatres was Inglorious Basterds. Pretty good, I thought. The scenes were very long and drawn out, though. The only scene that didn't lose my interest was the opening scene, and the ending scene. The basement scene was pretty good too. The acting was great, and I thought that Hans was a pretty cool character. Not Brad Pitt's best movie, but he did a good job too.

    I give it a 7/10.

    Good story and good acters.

All in all I'd give it a

    "Inglourious Basterds"-cool movie.
"Cloudy with a Chance for Meatballs" (In 3D!)
"Laputa: Castle in the Sky"-one of the best animated movies ever.
