i saw King Kong monday. it got kind of... boring.

I watched an old video of Independence Day the other day. Despite being totally American, a very cool film. At least...better than War of the Worlds.

I just saw Donnie Darko for the fifth time or so. Wonderful movie, it only gets better every time I watch it.

Just saw Red Eye last night.

I saw Shadow of a Doubt last night.

The Descent and Garden State tonight. Both solid movies.

Red Eye was good.

I finally saw all of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind two days ago. I liked it quite a bit more than when I saw the 1/3 of it I saw before. It's still not one of my favorite Miyazaki films, but it's pretty good. I also watched Kiki's Delivery Service again last night. Still pretty good.

While on the subject, I noticed on Adult Swim that Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is airing 2-3 Studio Ghibli films every Thursday night in January. So you've already missed Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Nausicaa. Next Thursday they have Totoro, Porco Rosso, and Whisper of Heart (the last two of which I still need to see all of). On the 26th they have Only Yesterday and Pom Poko, neither of which I've seen. So basically, all his most famous ones have already been shown, but the ones I haven't seen have yet to be.
