General Chat / Last Movie You Saw?

I'm not so much opposed to 300 as I am to the fact that a decent percentage of the population saw it without realizing it wasn't historical fact.

I'm not sure where i stand on 'romance' novels, Ed. A well-written romance is one thing, a vampire sex fanfic is another. For whatever reason they tend to be in the same section at bookstores. People are going to explore their sexual fantasies, and I think I'd rather they do it by purchasing books in public than on their computers in private.

PBob i think is concurring with my concept of films vs movies. His roommate goes to the movies, he watches films.

Movies are something you go to. Its an event that makes almost as much of the going part and the accompanying dinner or whatever as the actual presentation. Films are something you go to purely for the content, not for the good times and the company of whomever you went with.

They should have shown the History channel special "The Last Stand of the 300", which was very good and I assume also at least for the most part historically correct, as a preview to the actual movie 300 in the theaters, that would've learned 'em

    There Will Be Blood.

Probably the best movie of 2007, or right behind No Country For Old Men.

    The Bucket List

I'm going to start by saying that Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson make a great pair. Both of them have superb acting skills, and that really helped bring out the meaning of the movie. (Life is too short. Live each day like it's your last.) It was funnier than I thought would be, which was good, because I like funny, but it wasn't too funny, which was also good. I also cried, and there are few movies that I have ever really cried in. (Click, I Am Legend, and The Lion King.) The movie was also an inspiration, as I would really like to see the world. Maybe not skydive, but to go to other countries and see what they have to offer (mainly Japan, Spain, Ireland, Egypt, Italy, and Germany). The only real downside to the movie was the fact that it was narrated by Mr. Freeman (how many movies has he narrated so far?). They could've done without that.

    Overall, I'd give it a 9/10.

I'm kind of late on this one but Juno was really good. I didn't even expect it to be funny, so that was a plus.

I just saw Step Up 2: The Streets in theaters, and then I just finally watched Crash. And now, I'm contemplating watching The Invasion before going to bed or not... Hmm...
