Disney's '20000 Leagues Under the Sea,' since I read the book (along with 'Starship Troopers' and 'Foundation and Earth') while in Hawaii for the past two weeks. The movie, while maintaining the feel of the book, and the basic plot points, does differ quite a bit in some areas (spoilers?), such as:
*Nemo wasn't such a dick in the book. He just made sure his passengers couldn't escape by only going nearby land when it was desolate or filled with cannibals. He never locked them up. He felt extreme remorse at having sunk a ship. He fed them food that sounded much less nasty. He was an Indian prince.
*The Nautilus was a little different in design, but that doesn't matter, since the Disney Nautilus is awesome.
*There were many squids.
*Nemo saved Ned from the squids, not the other way around.
*Atlantis.
*The ending was completely different. Namely, no Vulcania and Nemo wasn't killed. Though there was a hollow volcano midway through.
*The Professor was the main character.
*Conseil talked in the third person, if at all.
*Nemo claimed Antarctica for himself.
*The movie only did a brief sampling of their travels, when they really traveled to nearly all the oceans.
*No pet seal.
It's still more accurate than the Sci-Fi channel version I saw, and a pretty good Disney film at that. It'd be in my top 5 live action Disney films. -

I saw the Illusionist awhile ago too, actually. It was infact, a great film. I love Edward Norton. -

I just saw PotC 2.
Wow, I really hate Johnny Depp....
Don't hate on Johnny Depp like he wasn't good in Blow.
Anyways, I just saw Jackass with a big group of friends. It was one of the best nights I've had in a while. The theatre was packed. You definitely need to see it Friday night at a mall with a ton of other kids your age, everyone starts screaming and laughing, and if you're with a fun-loving, out-going group, you're gonna have a blast.
Good shit. -

I saw Children Of Men last night and i'm very glad I did.
I saw Volver last week and, likewise, it was well worth the money. -

I saw Yojimbo a couple nights ago. It's a samurai movie, inspired by westerns, which in turn was the basis for the western, 'Fistful of Dollars.' It was good. -

Vertigo is great... haven't seen it in a year or two, but I remember it being suprisingly suspenseful.
Anyways, in the last week I've seen:
Matchstick Men- 8/10
Great movie (especially the acting!) with a disappointingly truthful yet awesome ending!
School Of Rock- 9/10
My first time to see this, and I HIGHLY recommend it! Fantastic, touching, HILARIOUS movie for all ages. -

I'm currently wearing a School of Rock themed shirt that I got Freshman year, since it was the theme of our dorm.
Vertigo was good, though I don't think I'd consider it among my top two favorite films.
Anyways, I've recently watched the following (or at least parts of them)
*Face/Off - Fairly good, for an action movie.
*Red Planet - I caught the tail end of it last night. It was sort of like a modern attempt at 2001, minus the monolith stuff. Decent, but not particularly good. I guess I didn't catch all the 2001 stuff the first time I saw it a few years ago. Killer AIs, non-killer AIs, similar ship designs (proving they're still viable designs, I guess), Bowman, random EVA stuff. I think the major flaw with the movie is that nothing really interesting ever happens. The best you get are bugs that produce oxygen. Mission to Mars had aliens and 2001 had trippiness and monoliths.
*Lord of Illusion - I got bored near the end and went to sleep. -

I saw 'Cars' last night at the $1.50 movie theater. It was pretty good. There were some parts that were hilarious, and overall it was quite cute. Not sure exactly where I'd rank it among the Pixar movies, but it'd be somewhere among 'The Incredibles,' 'Monsters Inc.,' and 'Toy Story.' I'm not as big a fan of 'Finding Nemo' or 'A Bug's Life.' Maybe I just don't like the ones with talking animals as much. So I probably won't like the next one as much either. -

ehh, I only liked Cars... Monsters Inc. was okay, but pretty much everything else wasn't that great/interesting
last movie I saw was the Sixth Sense. Crazy. Some scary parts, but more turn around and it's RIGHT THERE kind of scary than "eew that's gross" scary.
