Yeah, I liked it. Kind of reminded me of Se7en, but gorier. It was probably one of my favorite more recent horror movies. Haven't seen the sequel though, but I haven't heard much praise for it, so I might not.
Yeah, the 2nd one is not as good as the 1st one, it's too predictable...and look this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489270/ I guess that the first two weren't enough. -

Yeah the first SAW was pretty good and cleverly thought out but the second was sorta a let down but still very clever. -

I saw Superman Returns last night (the 10:00pm showing, first ever). (SPOILERS) I never really liked Superman as a character so I wasnt so excited to see this as I was Batman or Spiderman. The special effects were great and the acting was great but the story line was very subpar to me. It just seemed like whenever anything was in any sort of danger, Superman is always to the rescue. He showed no weakness, even after he was stabbed with kryptonite (shouldnt he have died from that???). Kevin Spacey was brilliant as Lex Luthor and Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth were both convincing as their roles. BUT, the best part was no doubt the super amazingly awesome trailer for SPIDERMAN 3! -

Why don't you rent it? ...I mean, I can tell you the ending, but it won't be as exciting as watching the movie. Just a suggestion...
Wait...although, if you missed 15 minutes, then I tell you the ending, by PM of course, but if you call "ending" the last half hour of the movie, then i suggest renting it...Edited by RCFanB&M, 28 June 2006 - 01:37 PM.

The ending of 8 Mile is friggin' great, when they have the freestyle contest. That was awesome. -

that was great, but just that wasn't worth renting it.
anyways, i bought this movie, laserblast. "the original sci-fi classic." it's going to be hillarious. found it in a rental store when this one girl and i played the "find the worst movie in the store in one minute game, go." -

Oh yeah, I saw that movie in the rental place a long time ago. Looked bad. I even read a review lately. Said it was crap, except the aliens were relatively well done.anyways, i bought this movie, laserblast. Anyways, just got back from Superman Returns (got in free with vouchers from some cartoon boxsets). First of all, I'm a fan of Superman and all that, but I've always felt the movies sucked. The campiness and general stupidity nearly ruined them for me. So keep that in mind. Anyways, this one was pretty good, but still not perfect. Unlike Batman Begins, which was a complete 180* turn around from the previous movies, Superman still retained a lot of the same feeling as it's predecessors. But Superman is more lighthearted, so that works. I really didn't like the beginning (too jumpy, boring, already saw it in the trailer, etc.). And I still wish they'd go with the Earth-1 evil businessman Luthor, as opposed to the silly Luthor. He was much improved though, as at least here he was fairly entertaining, but he still reminded me a lot of the Gene Hackman version. Not enough to really mess up the movie, but just enough that I can't think of him as Lex Luthor, but instead more as Luthor's slightly retarded cousin. What other random thoughts can I come up with... Luthor made a direct quote of Arthur C. Clarke's third law ("Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"), which pleased me greatly, fit well with a description of Kryptonian technology, and made me accept the crazy crystal stylings drawn from the earlier films. I enjoyed the small twist on the Superman mythos, and I thought they did it pretty well. Gotham was mentioned.
Anywho, that's about all. There were several scenes that I very much enjoyed, but I just thought the pacing could've been better and I would've preferred if it'd been a little less like the previous films. I'd definitely put it behind Batman Begins and Spiderman 2, and probably behind Spiderman 1 and X-Men 1&2.
Oh, and there was a short trailer (teaser, I guess) for Spiderman 3. Looks good, though I wasn't blown away. I like that they made it no secret that we'll have multiple villains this time (4, even though we've still only seen 3). And the rest of the previews sucked (2 crappy animated features and Lady in the Water, which looks confused and I have a feeling will suck on a scale comparable to his last several films).
EDIT: Oh shit! I forgot about Hellboy! I loved Hellboy the second time I saw it. I even bought some of the comic books. So that's Batman Begins, Hellboy, and Spiderman 2, which I liked more than Superman Returns. Probably not Spiderman or X-Men 1&2 though, now that I think about it. So that makes it fourth in it's own mini-genre. Still not bad, but I agree it could've been awesome if they just restarted the series with the cool Luthor and the Kryptonian Brainiac (though they still might be able to squeeze that in) and made it seem more plausible, as in Batman Begins. Also, where was this movie chronologically in relation to the other movies? I'd heard it was supposed to be the new sequel to the first one, but after seeing it I'm not sure. That also would've been solved by starting fresh. Of course, if they'd started fresh they probably would've had to abandon the whole Lois plot. Anyways, I hope it does well in the theaters. I'd enjoy seeing a Superman movie without Luthor. -

I saw an Anime movie, also called Metropolis(I guess the original name is Metoroporisu)...it's one of the strangest movies I've ever seen...(all those weird Japanese ideas), but it's quite original... -

I agree with the comments on Superman. For some reason, I thought it would suck, so I guess I was pleased. It wasn't great, though.
To add to what has been said, I wish they would have done what Batman did and restarted the series instead of picking up where they left off. It felt burdened by the other movies. And yeah, I'd agree about the plot being terrible.
Spiderman 3 looks awesome. I guess that's about all I have to say.
