Nice idea Turtle. I think I might do that for Tussaud's.
Many of those details in Isole Calabria I noticed, but a few like the shrines and the raised gardens i didnt. Beautiful. Makes me wanna look at the park again.

Well I really have nothing to do today and with my solo out for a huge Dimport I thought id focus on details in Fright Nights by Phatage. I thought of doing this because imo it is the greatest design ever made... and he wanted someone to do some of his stuff
I hate saying it coz I try never to look dumb when it comes to hacking after I have built a false rep as a hackmaster, but I can't figure out what he did to get the bench by itself with path covering everything... Then the stacked jungle plants with the big flower on them, well just look in AC and tLC to see how much I like that look, I so stole it from this park
I consider that re-colorable fog I made to be my best object ever, I think it makes everything look better and this mite be my favorite use of it ever as Phatage stacks it to the roof. I don't know exactly what it is, maybe a ghost's vapor trail, but I love looking at it.
Bars on a window, a popular theme in this topic (see Turtle's on his castle above) I remember staying in a hotel with windows just like this and planned to make an object to try that in RCT, but instead I just did a half ass'ed one DWG. Bottom line that adds so much "little thing" detail I think that pic defines this topic.
Now that’s how you theme a pumpkin!
That pic really grew on me (no pun intended) and as much as I hate those rooves Toon made I have become very fond of the mansion in FN. What I really like is the greenhouse' built on, reminds me of the Adam's Family one in the movie and if you can remind somebody of an amazing movie like that your doing something right.
It's rare I breakout the scenery clearer and take apart a building to see if anything is inside, but after hearing your plans for that H2H3 hotel I know not to look past you on details like that. Here you really add so much depth by building where many will never see anything, it's also just what id expect to see inside the mansion, so that shows how well you carry out your themes.
Now this is detail, you built a custom track inside a fucking building, damn that is cool!
The first time I saw this I was like "no way, that can't... wait it is" best use of land blocks ever, then you just rub it in by having an amazing coasters inversion behind it, then X-Sector totally steals it to fuck slob in the ass with a strap on, I mean if it was not for this landblock formation I think my team would have won the championship, go to the hell theme of Epica you fuckin basterd!!!!11
Amazing design, shame you had to pretty much drop out of qftb-x to finish it, but hey I went out the same way... sorta. I really can't wait to see what you do to win the PT2, im sure it will be amazing. Also I want to see what you say about my park/s and depending on how much you review maybe I’ll do this again for unfriendly invader or SF:WOE -

amazing...and time-consuming, I assume ^^
these details just show how much love and time a parkmaker offers to make a park... -

Nice one Kumba, i'm impressed by the depth you looked into this. You should start to strip open buildings more often... -

I started doing bayfront park yesterday, but I really wanted to do either that design you just did or your survivor area, and I think I just may do both of them as I liked them very much, and thought you definitely shoud have won the survivor. Thanks for the write up! -

Cool, I thought fans of the realistic style would love my survivor entry, so I tried to cop the "slob/steve" style and toss in neat details to beat steve who I thought would win due to popularity, meh I was right about one thing -

^Nice Artist, Nice.
Here's mine for Tussaud's, though it obviously doesn't live up to what has been shown in the topic.
I just thought this entrance fountain was pretty nifty. There's also underwater "pipes" that lead to the fountains. Note the signposts to. I signposted the whole park. Urgh. Stupid banner limit.
On the back of loads of the buildings (especially those on Castle Street) are large glass windows. I though it added a touch of realism and makes the buildings look more like they could be used than purely aesthetic.
The queueline and how it goes over the rapids is pretty nifty IMO (credit to Richie) and theres a little control booth and everything. I'm very proud of the indoor rides in the park.
There's quite a few train crossing around the park. Obviously don't require much skill or time to make, but I thought they added a lot. There's a diagonal crossing elsewhere in the park too.
I thought it was a nice realistic touch having people walk into an area and see a cool little entrance fountain with the helicopters going over it. I just thought it worked nicely. One of the first things I did on the park.
A lot of credit goes to Richie for this one. There are a few things I really like about this. Firstly, I like the open air station, somewhat similar to its sister ride, Rita. Secondly, I love how it is a large gift shop, and like in many tussuads rides, the exit path leads straight into the shop. Thirdly, the queue line is awesome. Props for that Richie. Oh, and for all the major rides n the park there's a fast pass entrance.
Ah. A shot of my favourite ride in the park. But this one isn't about the ride. I heard a few criticisms that the ride has no theming and just went around trees. Yeah, it does involve a lot of trees, but I'd like to point out some subtle theming such as the graveyard monument and the gravestones. Not very noticable or clever, it just work though in my opinion.
I kinda liked how the ride appeared to underground diagonally when it (obviously) didn't
Somehow, this is one of my favourite buildings in the park, despite it's total simplicity. It's just a rectangle, but I like the way it shows realism, looks like it could be an actual gift shop, and it's being hugged tightly by the coaster itself.
Not really a detail, but I just love the illmellmann on a vertical drop coaster (props to Richie again for the hacking) Nothing special I know since most people can hack these days, I just think it really worked in this case. And I was actually planning to have this before Sheikra was brought to my attention (ie. before it was built) though there are some obvious influences.
Thanks -

This was a really good topic idea Turtle! I've got some spare time, so i went over my rather large solo- 'The Masterpiece' and dug out some of these 'little details', i know it may not match up to real masterpieces such as Isola Calabria, artist's IOE or Phatages Fright Nights- but i feel it has some little details which are worth a mention...:
'Mousetrap' is actually one of my favourite rides in the park, has all the elements a conventional wild mouse has and many more. In this screen i tried out 'custom brake pads', based on the idea the brake fin would be loacted on the sides of the train and slowed down that way. This is shown by the blue blocks either side of the track. Also in this screen is a nice little detail, the vending machines, which works well with the windowed-wall infront.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of my favourite flat rides in the park 'banana boat', its a very simple idea, and i think it was executed quite well- better than i originally thought it would be. Also by the entrance for the ride is a small stall that sells real bananas, nothing like having a banana whilst queuing for a roller coaster!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really liked how well the Japanese area worked out, i wanted it to be bright using every imaginable colour and an array of textures, but the main thing i wanted to achieve was a good rollercoaster / water ride interaction. The catwalk on the inverted coaster imo is fantastic, exactly what i was looking for. The custom brake pads when the train leaves the station (not shown) is a neat little 'thing' too. I wanted the rapids ride to be full of these little details, so i would imagine it would be fun to ride with lots to look at, whilst the 'Red Dragon' inverted coaster roars overhead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to Tyandor for this amazing idea. The end of the rocket coaster, 'Grand Prix Legend', zig zags through a road very much alike to a formula 1 car. It was a fantastic idea Ty, and how you did it and resulted in normal Lateral-G's was beyond me!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to recreate a good go-kart track that you see in most theme parks, i had noticed the tracks were usually short and compact, but with good interaction with the path. The go kart track from 'Movie World' in Koln, Germany was my inspiration for this. I really liked how it worked out with the bridge going to the 'viewing area'. A nice little detail!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea behind this was fairly simple, basically three shops that sell the same thing but in a different colour, each one resembling a colour shown on a traffic light. I decided to have 'Slush Puppies' as the shops, and i also like how the custom traffic light towards the right worked out too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The monorail was the last ride I built in the park, i wanted to make the park look realistic so i put a small edge of a car park in the far corner just to show the park, and its grounds is expansive. One of my home parks, Alton Towers, gave me the inspiration for the monorail spare trains. AT has a huge, complex station of transfer tracks, with about six trains idle in the transfer station - (its hidden to the back of Katanga Canyon). So i decided that maybe i could incorporate a similar idea into my park, i only did one transfer track- but i'm glad how it worked out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Volcanzo has some really rustic looking custom supports, which i like to see. But the 'little detail' in this screen is the custom LIM's. I had not seen this been done before, so i thought i would give it a try using the objects i had. It came out okay, although it is not too obvious because of the tunnel. But if you peel back the tunnel and look partially underground, the LIM's do stretch back to the station.
I also like the custom lights i created coming out of the volcano, lighting up one side of it. I thought at night, that would look quite dramatic. Pity you can't have RCT at night...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The western area was the first area i created, and as i built the park i realised how pathetically shoddy this area looked in comparison to the rest. It has a fantastic woodie, the best one i have ever made, it deserved better surroundings that it had. So i gave the area i total revamp, demolishing quite a lot of it and starting again. However the 'shootout' pictured here, was one of the few things i was a bit iffy whether to keep or not, i decided to obviously, and i am glad i did- its a nice detail.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The aquarium! The last thing i did on the park before sending it off for spotlight/SRU. It could have been better architecture-wise, but i really love the underwater detail here. I was not sure if it had been done before, Kumba i think maybe did this at some point, but i placed a rapids 'whirlpool' underwater to make it look like a 'shoal of fish'. I was amazed with the result! I also like the little metal feeding platform there. If you peel away the walls, there are signs on the paths informing you about the stuff in the aquarium.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was another survivor of the 'Western Frontier revamp', a small fountain that is so simple its unbelievable. But its placement and execution is really nice, thought it would be a more creative alternative to using bushes/flowers to seperate the path.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Crazy Critters Theatre', basically a movie screen showing something entertaining to children in the park. The overhead queuing are worked out well, and i love the little details on the screen, especially the screen border.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'The sunflower cafe', a small cafe located inside an observation pod modified to look like a sunflower, corny i know... But it works well in the area, and the lift & the walkway towards it worked out better than i thought, although it may not have been obvious just looking at it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The main ride queue times, each shown in the colour scheme of the particular ride, which i thought was a nice detail to have. The placement for this is good too, right outside the monorail station which is handy. I had a LOT of trouble creating this however, i had some real problems with glitches on this, good job i saved over a hundred backups!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think anybody noticed this when they saw the park, but there is a small cage nestled behind the mountain of the 'Legend Of Isis' water ride. Inside are two entertainers (bandits) in a shootout, one called Iris and the other called Cork.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers.

I found this thread really inspiring, so I decided to join in. I didn't want to do any of my parks, so I looked at Egyptopia (Hope you don't mind CoasterEd). Egyptopia has so many details this post should be as long as your average CoasterEd post. But in the intrest of time, I only chose my favorite details from the park.
I love the wooden balcony and the fence below it. The mud below is very typical of what one would find under your normal balcony.
This one is about the window at the top of the screen. To maintain the enclosure of the railing on the roof, the land was sunken in one corner on the same tile as the window. The result is the wooden bar above the window.
Normally the brick wall has a white lining on top, but CoasterEd negated this by placing the wrought-iron fence with brick base on ground one level higher. The result is a really high brick fence with a fancy top.
Love the supports for the cover/balcony. Also note the fences on all sides of the middle column immediately underneath the pathway.
The white fence was placed here to remove the black siding that comes with the station. The white also blends nicely with the concrete base creating a single structure.
The ice covered wire fences appear as though they were used to blend in with the pathway as to not overpower the station.
Sometimes its what isn't there that is the best detail. I just love this long blank wall. There aren't any benches or fences or anything. Very realisitic.
The most detailed screen yet. The first thing that captured my attention was the wooden post & beam on the right side of the building entrance. Again, CoasterEd lowered one quarter of the tile to maintain the uniform railing but the resulting post & beam fits the area perfectly. The fence with the gate in it near the stairs does wonders aswell. The brown path on the right of the screen is disconnected from the main path, suggesting that it is for employee use only. The gate gives this realism and gives a purpose to the pathway. And of course, the composition of this screen is wonderful.
My favorite custom supports. The bones could not go straight down so CoasterEd created sweeping arcs to carry the load. The arcs also play up the bones theme by playing the role of ribs. The wooden railings on the lift anchor it to the supports and the white fences anchor the ribs visually to the ground. It works structurally and aesthetically.
Egyptopia has 221 rides, so CoasterEd could have added more bathrooms to the park. Not having correct facilities in a park is a pet peeve of mine. He is redeemed however for naming the bathroom 'Egyptopia's Only Bathroom' which atleast shows that he thought about it. -

hmm... I don't know what happened. They work for me and I've done the same thing many times before. I'll re-upload them with Rctd.
Edit: Any better? -

No. If I right click on the text, then click "View Image", I get the following error -
"The image “http://www.rctd.ft6.com/uploads/nFour.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors."
Maybe change the file type? From whatever the RCT default screen extension is (.pcx?), to JPEG, and try again? -

They seem to work for me at the moment. And i must say it made me appreciate Egyptopia even more! Some of those details are like, beyond detail!
