OMG, they just gave Pope a second yellow card seconds after the second half started! Now the US is 2 players down, this is bullshit! The refs have NO CLUE! These Italian players are the best actors I have ever seen, they are taking dives every 5 mins! -

This referee is out of his fucking mind. I'll grant the Mastoreni card because he could have broken the guy's ankles but the Pope 2nd yellow was ridiculous. De Rossi ought to be banned from the rest of the tournament though, that was brutal, what he did to McBride. -

The announcers have mentioned that the World Cup games have been averaging 5 yellows a game. That seems really high, is that high for club matches too? -

The only card I agree with was De Rossi's red. Mastoreni's should've been a yellow, and Pope should have only had one yellow if even. And the amount of fouls called was rediculous as well. The announcers said at least 4 times that that ref should not get to ref another game, an I couldn't agree more. But oh well, at least we got out with the tie even with one down for the second hald, now on to a Ghana team that looked VERY good against CR. -

Those calls were ridiculous. Bring us a good ref.
At least the US pulled out a tie... but wow, that game was terrible. -

Uhm, the italians totally underestimated the US. Sure, each and every player including the bench is superior but that doesn't mean the US doesn't have a heck a lot of willpower. And the willingness to go hard, really hard, into every tackle. Poor Italians. I don't know if you know this, but it was 9 to 9 a whole while because Perrota couldn't walk for around 20 minutes after being out of the game for atleast 5. The two red cards not warranted? this is one of the best refs i've seen! The first one, Rossi's, was absolutely terrible. He might not see another world cup match. The first US red card was too legged, from behind. What more do you want to warrant a red card. The first thing that went through my mind was, oh red. And pope's second yellow? He tore down that italian players anckles, shame he already had a yellow card but that was definitely a second. What a weird match. Your Odollivan (or however spelled) was able to impress. Worst player there was McBride, seemingly no skill whatsoever. Maybe de Rossi got 'em good after all. haha. In one minute the italians scored an own goal and a red card, how stupid is that. And they're so emotional. Both them and Argentina suffer from the fact that they just can't play every match to their max. Because fact of the matter is, when they do try, the Italians might just be close to the best of the world. Remember, they beat ghana, who just wiped the Czechs. The only player truly worth a mention in this game, though, is you guys keeper. Absolutely magnificent save, and what great touch Del Piero has. Would've been a great goal.
The group certainly is the most interesting one, now. (well obviously since two games were upset) I believe Italy has 4 points, US 1, ghana and Czech 3. After seeing Ghana, i suspect a victory over the US (have been expecting that ages back but everyone thought i was madness. Did I see the africa cup that sucked blabla. Look at how awesome these African teams are, Ivory Coast really had tough luck with Argentina and Holland in their poul, they could've taken on Group D or so, or the group that France is in, ridiculously weak. Anyways, that puts Ghana at 6, US still at 1, meaning Italy will either be first winning, second tieing, third losing. Seeing Czech lost against ghana, and italy beat them, i see italy beating them (and i'm counting the US game as so strangely fucked up that you can't really tell anything about it though)
If there were any refs btw in this game that were horrible, it would be those line refs. All those offsides, yet they seem to miss them when they were actually, erm, offsides. Ha! and the linejudges with Holland-Ivory Coast were absolutely phenomenal, can't rember a single mistake! -

Brazil still havn't shined yet, although Ronaldo looked a bit better.
I'm happy for the Koreans scoring the late equaliser against the french, the Korean supporters make me laugh =D -

Switzerland's 2-0 win over Togo today is putting everything in place for France to not make the knockout stages for the second year in the row. If South Korea and Swizterland draw their next game and France fail to win by more than 2 goals I think than they are out. Surely the Swiss and Koreans will just coast to a 0-0 with an aim to both letting eachother through so France have it all to do, luckily they are up against a Togo side in turmoil. -

Yeah, it was quite a boring game.. On a positive note, our defense looked really strong with Boulahrouz/Ooijer..
It will be tough from now on though; Portugal-England-Brazil-Argentina (if they win)..
At least we avoided Germany in the quarter finals although I would've loved to see us play Germany.. Ah well, at least we can kick England's butt now

Yeah...it was a boring game, but both teams played well...
Each one had many goal opportunities, but they also had a good defense, so nobody could score...
That's the truth... -

England are pretty shocking at the moment. Haven't put in an above average performance this world cup so far. Argentina look the best team so far, though I reckon Spain have a great chance of winning this year. i don't fancy England's chances again the Netherlands if thats how it pans out to be honest.

Ouch, US down 2-1 at halftime due to a penalty kick awarded on a dive by Pimpong. It's not looking good for the US. -

And that's that. But GHANA gets into the second round. Craziness. Kinda came out of nowhere.
