And I thought T&T's defense were pretty good in both this game and against Sweden...
Pretty crap game in the end. -

Crouch for king. I love the guy. Good goal Gerrard, and thank god Sven got his act together and finally made a decent substitution. Aaron Lennon just gave us that little injection of pace, I thought. Stop bringing on Hargreaves and Downing, you fucking dunce. -

And Serbia & Montenegro are quality aint they?
And not many people over here thought we would thrash them, we thought we would win but not by much, T&T do have a decent defence and a good goalkeeper, and our strikefore is not too great. I predicted 1-0, so im really pleased with a 2-0 win.
Also, we broke through their defence more than twice... we (Frank Lampard, Crouch) just didn't finish. I mean for fucks sake we had 23 shots at goal!

Six Fraggs did you watch a different game?
We had loads of chances but didnt put them away.
You gotta give T&T credit rather than slating England.
Werent impressed with your national team to be honest. -

C'mon, England's play wasn't that good.. If they play a team with a strong/experienced defense, say Italy, how do you think England will beat them?
TnT debuted this WC.. They didn't expect to be 0-0 in the 83rd minute.. Admittedly, their position play was very strong, but I expected England to be a lot more creative, experienced and tactical to break their defense and score a lot earlier (which would've made life a lot easier)..
And you can't compare TnT with Serbia, because there's a lot of difference in quality, experience and results.. If you're qualifying above Spain and didn't have a goal against for I don't know how long, that's a huge difference imo..
Ah well, let's just wait for tomorrow

Well if current form is anything to go by my money is on Argentina, they just destroyed Serbia and Montenegro scoring some of the best goals of this and any World Cup. Watching them celebrate and seeing each name on the back of their shirts appear on screen one after another realy hit home how good a squad they have...Messi, Tevez, Crespo, Sorin, Riquelme, Cambiasso. Their keeper is making a huge difference with his instant and accurate delivery too, they are going to be a real force this year.
Both England's games have been slow paced and boring and I haven't enjoyed watching them one bit. I felt sorry for T&T when we scored to be honest, Crouch fouled their defender for a start and it would've given me more joy to see the euphoria on their faces if they held out for a draw then the two late goals papering over our evident cracks has.
Hopefuly we can pull it together and send out a warning against Sweden but I have a horrible feeling Ecuador will get a draw out of the Germany game meaning we will have to face the hosts next round. -

Argentina were awesome, the second goal is one of the best goals i've ever seen in any competition. To be honest though, what happened to Serbia & Montenegro? They were a decent team in the qualifiers, but by far the worst team in the world cup. With Argentina, you just need to close them down quick and not give them space, exactly what Serbia didn't do... 6-0 lol.
Looking forward to seeing the outcome between Ivory Coast and Holland, should be a tight match, I'm gonna predict either a draw or a Holland 3-2 win.

"Argentina give the most impressive performance of the World Cup finals so far by overwhelming woeful Serbia/Montenegro 6-0 with a superb display of flowing football in Gelsenkirchen."
Is it just me, or does "Argentina give the most impressive performance" sound incredibly awkward? I noticed people doing it in this thread, but I was surprised to see CNN doing it, too. -

That's "headline" tense. It's always bugged me how they phrase things like that, ie whenever the LA Times comes and one of the main headlines is worded in a way so awkward that you have to read it 3 or 4 times to actually understand what it's saying. Though I do agree, Argentina looks like they're in very good shape to win it all if they can play like that against stronger teams. -

wooooooohhooooooo!!!!!!
oooowww, not incredible but showed some good play. Great that the german papers said holland wouldn't be anywhere without Robben, just look at how van Persie just tilted the entire game this time. Very, very strong opposition, great team. Those two awesome defenders, wow. Drogba's shot that hit the woodwork, wow. That goal. But we dominated play even since, another close win but a win is a win. looking forward to holland-argentina even though both teams won't go all out.

Our defense sucks. And I lost 10 euros. Van Persie was good though, remarkable that most of the balls where going towards him instead of Robben. Robben just fucked up almost every ball with his ego. In the first game I could live with it, but this was just horrible play by Robben. Also we had to much ball lose. On the other side, Ivory Coast just played a very good game too. -

Drogba is so poor! he's like that in the premiership. 2 against 1 n he fucks it up! lol
Its nice to watch end to end football from a neutral perspective. -

^ Heck yes. What a game! The red card really helped them, but wow... they played well.
