    USA is getting killed. :(
About what I expected, the Czechs are pretty ridiculous, but still that's no fun.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
ROFLMAO, we died 3-0. That was a beating. Bush gave the team a pep talk before the game. I think that's what screwed them up, because every time I hear Bush talk, I get irrationally angry.

Either that or Gary Payton somehow sneaked onto the team. :D

Wouldnt be too disheartened, the czechs are and have always been a decent team.

Reckon it woulda been different story if reyna had slotted his chance away.

Australia game was great, they kept on the pressure all through the second half and it finally paid off! The Japs got lucky with their goal, and would have done better if they had done something with the ball everytime they were on the break.

The Czech - USA game was good too, probably because I'm an arsenal fan =P. There was nothing special about the game except for the goals, the Czechs were looking great and will do really well if they keep it up.

Currently watching Italy, which they have just scored while typing this message. They are looking the better team, because Ghana just keep smashing the ball and hoping its on target imo.

I'll be watching the France - Swiss game tommorrow, and definatly the Brazil - Croatia game.

    mmm, US did pretty poor.
Sure hope they do better next game against Italy. Though that'll be a very difficult game...
  • Jellybones%s's Photo
Italy is beatable. They're doing nothing of substance against Ghana.
  • trav%s's Photo
    Czech > Italy.
  • hobbes%s's Photo
yes yes I know, but still to be feared.
  • eman%s's Photo
Wow, US blew. Oh well, I still think theyve got a good chance against Italy, and if they win that one theyll almost for sure make it past pool play. But then they'll get destroyed by Brazil. Oh well...

the US played the worst game of soccer i think i have ever seen, before the game the coach was hyping them up like there goin to crush the czechs and they just got blowin out the water.

i hope there heads are deflated, maybe theyll play like there here for somthing.

Bush gave them a pep talk?

It all makes so much sense.

uhm, the us has more than enough of a problem with ghana, even if they by all miracles beat italy. there aren't any essiens on your team.. face it, one of your best players is a normally benched psv player beasley..

i know you can upset, but it would really be an upset if the us got out of poul play. and it's possible in soccer because it's just a few moments and you can win without being the better team.
  • eman%s's Photo
Evil, if you really truly think US has a hard game ahead of them with Ghana, I think you're just flat out not acknowledging that the US is in reality a solid team. It wouldn't be an upset if the US got out of pool play either. And could you stop repeating the Beasley PSV thing...I understand you feel a bit of national pride at the fact that one US player is a benched player on a Dutch team, but the actuality of it is that it's an irrelevant fact, Beasley is still a solid player who can contribute to the national team, and US has many other players who are just as good or better than Beasley, he's hardly their strongest player.
And just watch. I'll say right now US will beat Ghana by at least 2. If not, then fine, I'll take back what I said and come to the final realisation that US is hopeless in soccer. But otherwise, I'll just enjoy watching them go beyond pool play and getting beat by Brazil.

Isn't the US actually 5th in World Rankings or something?

Isn't the US actually 5th in World Rankings or something?

Unfortunately FIFA messed up the rankings. They actually ranked the US national team 5th in the world amongst junior teams, not against other professional national teams.

Wow, there are lots of games being played..

England disappoint me saturday.. But I can't blame them for defending their goal.. I think if Rooney plays, England will play better.. Beckham proved he can decide a game though, so I still see him as England's most dangerous player..

Sweden was the most disappointing of all games played to date imo.. I had them winning with 3-0 against TnT.. Leo Beenhakker proved though, he's a brilliant coach, with great position play, and keeping Yorke more in a defensive role where he can be more dominating in TnT's play.. I hope Sweden can get their stuff together though, as they have some great quality players like Ibrahimovic, Larsson and Ljungberg..

I think our group didn't disappoint as being the strongest poule. Argentina dominated most of their play against Ivory Coast, although IC really played a strong game in parts.. 2-1 was the right score though, with Argentina being the right winner..

We (Holland) played pretty good imo.. Serbia had to replace most of their best players because of our players.. We dominated both the first and second half, although Serbia had a few dangerous shots.. If we play Ivory Coast like this, I think we will have a chance of beating them and advancing to the 1/8 finals.

I didn't see any match from here on (only highlights), so I can't really say how these groups have played.. It looks like the 'big' countries do what's expected, exept France gave a REALLY bad play this evening (I've seen that one).. I have them going to the semis but I don't see it happen if they play like this..
Oh, and Hiddink once again proved he's one of the best coaches out there, with 2 golden substitutes that really payed off in the last 10 minutes.

Looking forward to Brazil this evening!

My whole family including me was born in Holland except for my sister. My whole family happens to also live in Holland, so I'll be cheering for Holland, not USA, which I particularly don't like.

...not USA, which I particularly don't like...

Oh boy, more USA bashing  Thats ok, when you are "King-of-the-Mountain", you get used to people trying to push you off ;) (Im speaking in general terms of course, not in terms of soccer)
