I sort of don't like the new colors....I think it looked better with the old blue/grey scheme.

Rather ugly... blocky... just out there n stuff. Should wait to post some more completed screens n such so it isn't so harsh on the eyes.
  • Grand Admiral%s's Photo
How can you say it's ugly when the area around it isn't complete. What does everyone mean by blocky?
  • Dark-Daxter%s's Photo
    Make it complete then...

Anyways, blocky means that it is too...eeuhm...lego-isch? The shape is too big with too little details wich make it a big block. And personally i dont like the colors.

I thought I would show you a prototype of Sleeping Beauty Castle just to see what you thought. I have been experimenting with new castle designs.

Great archary on the entrance, but shouldn't there be doors to the balcony area? I don't know, seeing an unthemed screenshot is kind of bleh..

It might look ok if you didnt use such crap scenery. Just because thats probably in a 'disney tab' doesnt mean you have to use it. Toon/fishermans pieces would look 100x better.

    Such criticts!

Here is the final of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

It's too blocky, not enough detail, and not enough windows.

Since nobody likes it I've decided to end posts in this topic. This can be deleted.

If you're only building for our sake, then yes...do stop now.

You should only be playing this game for your own enjoyment......nothing more.

This place is a bit harsh when it comes to crits.....but then again, if you look at the spotlights here, you'll understand.

On second thought I just need a long vacation. The park is still on. Oh by the way I've seen the spotlight parks. The majority look like bat juano. :D

Scratch the name this is now Disneyland London. Work has continued on this park's rebirth. To keep it simple here is a new Main Street Station.

Mehh.. I think it's rather boring.. Try to be more imaginative like adding balconies.
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
If you're going to use custom brick walls, make sure they look good. Those don't look like they fit in the game at all. And complete more of the area before you show us something. And where in London is this park?

A little bit of friendly advice coasternator, in my opinion you're kind of learning RCT backwards. I see great ideas but a cart-before-the-horse way of practicing and building. You've supplied yourself with a massive plethora of custom scenery and are trying to build all these complex structures, yet the fundamentals, the basics of RCT, are lacking in these screens - particularly the ability to put down trees and foliage, but also a feel for arrangement of windows and overall structures and for aesthetic use of scenery. I would be very pleasantly surprised if you could whip out a kickass coaster layout about now. Your case is not unique and we get at least five folks coming in the AD per month that have put the cart before the horse, so it's not like you're awful or anything. But it's pretty tough going, let me warn you, if you continue to take this route. Only one guy who learned scenery way before coasters ever really got anywhere, and that's the prodigal JKay. I fear your case won't be the same as his. I'd also advise against starting with a Disney park. If I am right in remembering that Iceman, then under the name Mad Dawg, did a few other things before getting into his RCT2 Disney parks, then I have never seen a single person who has started with an ubercustomscenerified RCT2 Disney park and gotten very far. Perhaps the names rctfan1556 and MantisFan794 don't mean much to you, but those are some horror stories of people trying to go that route and failing. I don't mean to completely discourage you, because I like you man. I would just start with something that's not as thematically challenging as a Disney park, using a great deal less custom scenery and not involving the need to build huge structures. Start small and work your way up. You might find it gets you places a lot faster, as it has a lot of other RCT2 folks around here.
